Post-Christmas Update!!

Hello, everyone :) I hope you all had an aaaamazing Christmas!! Ours was quite nice, even though our families were definitely missed. Our little family had a great weekend, though!

Soooo, I did a lot of cooking this weekend. Made turkey tetrazzini on Friday (my office sent me home with a 10 pound turkey; had to use it somehow!) It was good; nothing amazing, nothing awful, just good. I am quite impressed with myself for carving a turkey, though! Saturday night the husband requested our favorite sausage dip (the one I always beg my mom for!), which was fantastic as always. Sunday was the day of feasts!!! I made breakfast casserole for breakfast (duh), which turned out perfectly; I was so excited! It's way way way too much food for two people, though. Thank goodness it's yummy leftover! Dinner was the big production. We glazed the ham and cooked it; SUCH a good ham. Thanks to my office for that one, too. I made my favorite kale casserole, which turned out yummy, as always :) I made sweet potato casserole - Josh's absolute favorite!! I'm not so big on sweet potatoes, so it didn't impress me, but Josh loved it, so that's all that matters! I "made" rolls, which consisted of putting them on a plate. And I made a cheesecake, but we were soooo full by the end of dinner, we didn't eat any :) We did drink coffee out of our fancy china coffee cups after dinner, though. SO POSH.

Well, when I wasn't cooking this weekend, I was watching movies!! We watched The Christmas Story (a present for Joshua), Die Hard (Joshua got the entire collection on Blu Ray from his lovely wife), and The Social Network (thanks, Joshua, for this movie!). We also got The Hangover II from Dan, The Wizard of Oz from the Brians, and Tangled from the husband. Woohoo! Last night, per Jessica's insistence, I watched Revenge on my laptop. It's good! I got through the first 3 episodes. Thanks, Nakamuraaaa.

And when I wasn't cooking/watching movies, I was shopping! We hit up the after Christmas sales on Monday! Picked up a new wreath, tree topper, and Christmas cards for next year at Target - SCORE. Then, we finally did it: we bought a grill!!!! My fancy husband put it together while I cleaned up inside. I can't wait to use it :)

We also went to see Christmas lights! First, we had to stop at Dunkins for some hot chocolates! Then, we went to a home in southern Tallahassee (HUGE house) that had a light display set to "Proud to be an American" - it was really amazing; we'd never seen anything like that in person before. Then we went to a park near our house to walk around and see more lights. It was a great time. Thanks to the husband for taking me to see my nerdy, girly Christmas lights! :)

We used our fireplace for the first time - major successes! We got all of our fancy pants fireplace tools, so we're set! It was way too warm for fires, but we enjoyed them anyway :)

In other amazing news: I came into work today to see my boss had put a $50 Bonefish gift card in my chair. Major score! I cannot wait to have a feast.

In the amazingest news: MY FAMILY IS VISITING THIS WEEKEND. I can't wait to see you guys and ring in the new year with you <3

Such a Gloom-tastic Monday...

Happy Monday, everyone! If there is such a thing...

I hope you all had an amazing weekend. Ours was very nice and relaxing, aahhhh, love those kids of weekends :)

Friday, I went to the mall after work for top secret shopping for the hubby. He then met me at the mall where we walked around hinting to each other what we may want for Christmas! This was short lived as, of course, we were hungry. A lovely dinner at Panera was the next stop for us! Clam chowder nom nom nom. We relaxed at home Friday night, and watched Friends with Benefits. I got to stare at Justin Timberlake, he got to stare at Mila Kunis, it was a good deal. The movie was very cliche and predictable, but aren't they all these days?

Saturday, I headed out early to get even more shopping done! And my trip was cut short because I, shocker ahead guys, got hungry. I went home, scooped up the hubby, and off to Moe's we went! Nobody yelled, "welcome to Moe's!" My heart broke. I ate anyway. Then, it was off to get our tree! An adorable boy scout helped us pick out our tree. He walked us around, offered to spin the trees for us, and offered to shake them so we could see if the tree would shed. Aaaadorable. Then he trimmed the tree for us, and the older kids put it up on the Jeep to go home! Josh made our little boy scout's day by leaving him a tip :) Once the tree was in the living room, it was time for yet another outing - lights!!! We chose colored LED lights, and holy cow, they're amazing. Our living room looks so awesome! We decorated the tree (none of my super nice ornaments are on there at the moment, as I do not trust the children yet), drank some hot chocolate and listened to some Christmas tunes! Then, Joshua was off to do some Christmas shopping of his own. I shaked and baked some chicken - and then I fell asleep on the sofa during Super Bad. Old lady right here, yeesh.

Sundayyy was a nice relaxing day :) Got my newspaper, clipped some coupons, made some delicious pork chops in the crockpot (easiest recipe ever guys: pork chops with cream of chicken soup and a packet of ranch mix on top... got he "make again" stamp of approval from the husband!). We watched Star Trek and watched James Bond: Casino Royal. It was another good day!

Now, Monday: BORING. Nothing at all to type about, womp womp :(

I CANNOT WAIT FOR MY FAMILY TO VISIT, BY THE WAY. HURRY!

Miss&Love you all <3

Bored at work: SHOCKING

Well, hello! I have been slacking on my blogging. Woopsies :)

So, let's see, what have I been up to?
  • Joshua and I finished our Harry Potter marathon and it was fantastic. We need something else to get hooked on now, hmmm.
  • I spent a big chunk of my day Saturday Christmas shopping for everyone; all I came back with was stocking holders for Joshua and myself. No gifts :(
  • I finally got a frame for my 11x14 bridal portrait; only 15 months late on that one.
  • I just ate Chipotle with the husband: 1) we're addicted, 2) holy guacamole I'm full, and 3) a dude that works there calls Josh "skinny Christian Bale" every time we're in there. Awesome.
  • My office might be giving us a ham for Christmas which is perfect because Josh wants me to cook ham for Christmas!
  • We bought awesome Christmas lights only to come home and discover there are no outdoor outlets on our home. womp womp. We found solar lights, but they're quite pricey, so only a small portion of our house is actually lit up, bahahaha. After Christmas sales, you best mark down the solar Christmas lights!
  • I made some awesome crock pot chicken cordon bleu on Saturday; delicious! Not very pretty though, so no Facebook photo. I made some so-so steak, mushroom, onion skillet on Sunday; it was a healthy recipe, and therefore, way too bland.
  • I've done a wee bit of Christmas shopping online so far! I refuse to pay shipping, so I'm hitting up all of the free shipping deals! #frugalchristmasforthewin (why did I just use a hash tag in a blog?)
  • Josh got a Starbucks giftcard from a public defender intern today. You know what this means: HOLIDAY DRINKS THIS WEEKEND WHILE GETTING A CHRISTMAS TREEE. Christmas, I do love you.
I do believe I am boring and have nothing further to type about. Ooo Ooo I'm sending Christmas cards this week; that's exciting! I just need to drag myself to the post office to buy stamps :)
xoxo

Oh, I'm fancy, huh?

I have no earthly idea if this will work or what it will look like on my blog, BUT I am bored enough that I am willing to give it a try. Everyone else is off to lunch (I already ate a delicious bowl of Chikfila chicken noodle soup).

xoxo

My almost-week at home!

Welp, I am back in Tallahassee! Our house was just as we left it - score! So, how was my trip? I shall tell you, because I know you want to know.

It was awesome!

Tuesday was driving day. We were on the road by 6:30am, and home to Virginia by 6:30pm! My mom made some deeeelicious she crab soup! It was fun catching up with the mom, the dad, and the sister. I must have been in food coma mode, because I currently cannot think of what the heck we did after dinner. Oh dear...

Wednesday was fun! The husband, the sister, and I drove out to Short Pump for a quick shopping mission. We met my dad for lunch at a delicious Mexican restaurant. Steak fajitas nom nom nom!! After that, it was off to drop my sister at her first day of work at Pier 1, and then back to Short Pump for an Apple Store adventure. While the hubby waited for his appointment with the Genius Bar, I got us yummy beverages! Mexican Mocha for me and Vanilla Chai Latten for him. So, after I got drinks, I had to get past the Apple store bouncer (they was a roped off line to get into the store) to bring the hubby his beverage. We waited, and waited, and waited. We waited for an hour past our appointment and finally asked "WTF?" Welp, our name had gotten deleted and nobody even knew we were there. LOVELY. Our transaction took on minute. Then we got my sister an oil change (we're such nice people) and headed home to hangout with the mom! Meatloaf was for dinner! I believe this was the night we watched Super 8 - good move.

Thursday was Thanksgiving! After a lovely breakfast we hung around the house all day until heading off to Linda's for Thanksgiving festivities! The wine was delicious, the company was great, the dogs were adorable, and the food was nom nom nom worthy! We sat at the kids' table, of course :) I ate cheese, veggies, dip, grapes, turkey, sinful potatoes, kale, rolls, dressing, and chocolate pudding cake. Be jealous. Then, it was back to the house for some Get Him to the Greek. Umm, not exactly the best movie in the world, but it was okay, I suppose.

Friday was da bomb! An early (not by Black Friday standards, but by Regular Friday standards) trip to the mall was first on the agenda! Then we had to drop the sister off to her first day of work. We met the boys for a yum lunch at the Chop House (best. rolls. ever.) and then went to Bass Pro Shop. That store is overwhelming, but I got to see both cute dogs and Santa Clause, so I was okay. After that, we separated from the boys and did a few more girl missions (thanks, mom, for the new shoes and shower curtains) and headed home. Then, it was off to pick Allison up from work and head to Fredericksburg to see friends! We went to Capital Ale House for some food, drinks, and fun :) We had such a good time. I missed my friends oh so much. And the food was once again deeeeelicious! Some drunk dude tried to ruin our fun, but he was a douchy and did not succeed. Miss you, Princesses <3

Saturday was Short Pump day! Nope, didn't buy anything, but had a fun time! We had Nanny over for football and dinner that night. Pork roast, potato casserole, and green beans. Once again, nom nom! I actually watched the football (well, a little). VT beat UVA (I was rooting for both teams since I come from a house divided) and FSU beat UF (woop Seminoles!). I didn't get to watch the game, but ODU beat NSU (yayyyy Monarchs!)

Sunday, it was time to say goodbye :( The drive was long and the drivers were obnoxious, but we made it back! Our children seem happy to be home and quickly fell into the usual routine :)

Sooooo, I had a LOVELY time. Thanks everyone for making it an awesome visit :) I hope you all had fantastic Thanksgivings! I would post pictures, but I'm too tired and lazy, so just look on Facebook, muhahaha!

I am never bored at work.

YES I AM! I AM BORED RIGHT NOW! booo :(

Happy Friday, loves! I'm out of this place in two hours. YES!

Tonight, I am going to see Twilight: Breaking Dawn. Oooooooo, it's probably not going to be very good, but I'm going regardless, as I don't get invited out often! Sooo, I'm excited :) And I do adore making fun of awful movies!

Tomorrow night, we're going to the FSU v. UVA football game. It's the homecoming game, so it should be fun. However, it's at 7:30pm so it should be cold. I want to wear a UVA t-shirt under an FSU sweatshirt and snuggle in my ODU blanket. Identity crisis much?

As of now, no plans for Sunday! Perhaps yard work, coupon clipping, crockpot cooking, house cleaning, and dog walking? I'm such a grownup!

Monday, it will be work. Ugh.

Tuesday, it will be Virginia time!!!!!!!! Wednesday, Virginia time. Thursday, Virginia turkey time. Friday, Virginia friend time. Saturday, Virginia time. Sunday, back to Florida time.

I can't waiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit to visit <3 Love you all!

Funnel Cakes are delicious.

Happy Monday, folks! Hope you all had a wonderful weekend. Mine was quite nice. Let me blog about it!

Friday night the husband took me out for an Outback feast! We ate at old person dinner time, but didn't have to wait for a table! It was deeeelicious :) Then, we ventured out for the most amazing thing ever: The complete Harry Potter series on Blu-Ray. Wal-Mart didn't have it, Best Buy didn't have it, Target across town didn't have it, BUT the Target right across from our neighborhood had it! Turns out we drove all over town when our prize was just across the street. It was on sale because of opening day and we had a $25 Target giftcard from the Brians, so it was quite the amazing purchase! So, we went home for a "Harry Potter Marathon" which consisted of watching the first movie and going to bed, bwhahahahahhahahaa!!!!!!!!!!!

Saturday was a good day :) I spent most of my day shopping around town with my Birthday money from Nanny! I never shop for myself, since we're still in poor person mode thanks to the townhouse, so it was a joyous occasion! However, I suck at shopping and it was a difficult quest. I ended up getting two tops at Kohls and will be searching for the perfect pair of brown flats this week (thanks, Ellie, for chewing mine up). Soooo, after my shopping mission, it was time for the FSU game! The game was soooo loooong, but they beat Miami, so it was worth it! We were going to go the fair after the game, but it was too cold (mid-50s is too cold for fair fun!), so we watched what we thought was the 2nd Twilight movie...... nope, I discovered this morning that we had watched the 3rd one. No wonder we were so confused the whole time, we missed an entire movie! Ugh. Tonight, we go backwards and watch the 2nd one. I'm invited to go to the premier of the 4th movie this weekend, soooo I have to get caught up!

Sunday started off rough; I woke up with a nasty headache, rawr! Luckily, some meds, a shower, coffee, and cereal were the perfect combination to kill that sucker. Joshua was a good husband and went out to get the Sunday paper so I could have my first coupon clipping mission. Dude, it was fun! I'm signed up for this website, www.couponmom.com, that sends you an email every time your selected stores put out their weekly ads. It links up all items that have coupons for extra savings, and even links you to the coupons or tells you they're in the Sunday paper. I've been using this for a few weeks now and it's awesome! Last Thursday, I saved $17.00 at Publix, and only paid $15 - for that I got SO MUCH stuff! It's fun to save money :)

Anyway, after my coupon clipping adventure, it was off to a day of fun! First, it was a pizza date at Momo's with Karen and Zach! I actually got a stuffed portobello mushroom (I don't really like pizza, eek), which was delish! After that, it was off to the fair! It was in Sketchville, Florida, sooo there were strange people all around, but the four of us had fun! We rode rides, ate funnel cakes, saw awesome animals, read strange 4H poems, visited the freak shows (they went in and reported back to us; we were out of money, boo!). It was a great time! We spent entirely too much money (I miss the days where the rides were unlimited, and not $4 for a ride on the swings!), but it was super fun!! Picture time :)

Welp, hi ho hi ho, it's off to work I go...

Oh wait, one more thing! My "Little Girl" is six months old:

Ugh, I love that little thing!

Humpity Hump Hump Day!

Happy Wednesday, my lovely readers! I'm stuck at work on this gorgeous day; simply terrible. But I have decided to brighten my day by blogging! Knowing the coolest people I know read my blog makes me happy :)

I have absolutely nothing interesting to write about, sadly, so please do not expect a very exciting blog. Hmm, what has happened since I last typed in this box? Well, I worked yesterday (yawn!) and came home to the husband, who was a good house-boo that day; he did laundry, did the dishes, cleaned around the house, and made me spaghetti for dinner :) Me gusta! I watched Glee (although, honestly, the show is not that great), New Girl (favorite.new.show.) and sadly fell asleep during Raising Hope. My life is super exciting, guys! SUPER exciting! Today has been unpleasantly uneventful. It has mostly consisted of me sitting at my desk, staring at my computer monitor, and wishing I was somewhere else.....

....... Speaking of somewhere else, I will be in Virginia oh so soon for Thanksgiving! My heart is very happy about this :) Hopefully we'll be driving up on Tuesday and I can say hellooo to my family and friends! The pups will be making the trip with us; last time they came to VA Ellie was only 8 weeks old. You guys aren't even going to recognize the little lady :) Mr. Wrangler is still as studly as always.

I got some birthday cards in the mail on my birthday, which made me super happy! Got a card from Nanny, a card from the Brians, and a card from Miss Holly containing a pair of football tickets that I am very excited about!! :)

Alas, I do believe I have run out of things to say. Love you all, as always! xoxo <3

Birthday Blog!

I'm 26 years old, yowza! I had a loverly birthday weekend :) It was a very low key weekend, but sometimes those are the very best!

Saturday, we hung around the house before Zach's surprise welcome back party at 3:30! It was fun :) We got to meet some new people, eat some tasty burgers, and chit chat. I got to open my birthday gifts on Saturday because, yes, I am a little kid and cannot wait until my actual Birthday! I did good. The husband got me a purse (that I had pointed out in Dillard's forever ago; very good hubby) and a wallet! The parents got me pumpkin coffee, some awesome hurricane candle holders which are now on the mantle, an adorable doggy wind chime which is now giving my pink flamingo wind chime some company (seriously, I'm so cool), and another awesome purse!! The Brians got me a pajama set and some puppy slippers. YAY BIRTHDAYS!!!

Sunday, we celebrated my birthday - who wants a birthday on a Monday? Screwww that! We drank some amazing pumpkin coffee, mmmmm! I couldn't decide what I wanted to eat, sooo we went shopping to walk around and work up our hunger. The weather was so gorgeous, I chose Chez Pierre for brunch, due to their awesome outdoor seating area. Joshua got ham and cheese egg benedict, which he gobbled up. I got a south beach omelet, complete with smoked salmon and capers smothered in a yummy sauce. Oh boy, it was good! Then it was home for cheesecake that I had made the night before - delish as always! We relaxed on the couch and then headed off to Home Depot where we bought a push broom and hedge trimmers! Back home, I trimmed the hedges while Joshua swept our driveway (so many pine needles and leaves, you couldn't even tell we had a driveway!). We then relaxed and watched "Up!" aka the cutest movie of all time. Then, it was dinner time, for a Chicken and Mushroom in Garlic White Wine Sauce (photo on Facebook soon).

Monday, well it hasn't been the best actual birthday, which is why we pretended yesterday was my birthday :) I was stuck at blah work all morning. A nice Chik-Fil-A lunch with the husband made me happy :) And then it was back to blah work. I did get another cheesecake though! (when someone in my office has a birthday, we all sit in the conference room and eat cake together).

<3 you allllllllllllll!

FRIDAY. Hellz yes.

Thank goodness it's Friday!! I don't talk about work on here, but I will sum up my week with one word: "UGHHHH" Get the picture? Okay, moving on.................

YAY for the weekend's arrival! And extra YAY for the arrival of this fall weather. Staying under 70 degrees today! I have my skinny jeans and leather boots on today; Glorious! I have an abnormal amount of energy today, which is driving me nuts because I'm stuck in this office. My fingers are seriously moving so quickly right now I have so much energy. YAY I GET TO LEAVE AT 3:30 TODAY! Gotta love me some Fridays :) The day of the week, not the restaurant, because it's honestly not that great. Moving on, again.............

So, Kaitlin, what are you doing this weekend? Well, self, I'm going to a surprise party Saturday night! Must stay hush hush in case the person reads this (which there's actually a 0% chance of considering he's not even on Facebook, but shhhhh). Sunday, we celebrate my Birthday! No clue what we'll do to celebrate, but I'm super excited :)

Side note; Halloween candy is dangerous. I don't even LIKE candy, and I can't stop eating the Halloween candy at my office. NOOOOOOOOOOOO.

I am eating a sandwich right now; eh, it's okay. I like my lunch breaks because I can close my office door and hang out without having people bugging me. It's phenomenal! I want to go out and do something, alas, I have nothing to do. Oh woe is me.

I have nothing constructive to say, anything exciting going on, or anything else clever or witty to add. Therefore, I SAY GOODBYE <3

Tuesday, November 1, 2011

Helloooo there, November!!

I hope everyone had a lovely Halloween :) We had 17 trick-or-treaters (yes, I kept count). I discovered a couple things last night: 1. I get abnormally excited whenever a trick-or-treater arrives to the house... like, jump up and down clapping excited, 2. I am way too generous with candy... like, "here, have a handful of our overpriced candy" generous, and 3. I'm so jealous of the trick-or-treaters and wish I was walking around the neighborhood, too. Josh and I had fun handing out candy. We had our pumpkins lit up and Addams Family on our TV. The poor dogs were not so thrilled with the random, miniature people constantly ringing our doorbell. Poor Ellie was walking around whining; I think she was scared. Silly Elle-bug :)

It's officially my birthday month!! The ending of a quarter-century is arriving in less than a week. Even though my 26th birthday is on a Monday, I do believe we will be celebrating it on Sunday the 6th. What's the fun in celebrating a birthday on a work day? (although, my office is ordering a cheesecake for my birthday SCORE SCORE SCORE). Speaking of birthdays, Ellie is almost 6 months old - awwwww!!

I shall end this post with a photo of me handing out candy:

(such a nerd)

Trick or Treat, Smell my Feet.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!! Booooooohahahahahaaaaaaaaa!

Joshua and I had a lovely weekend down here in Tallahassee - the weather was gorgeous!!

Friday night, we took a nice walk around the neighborhood with the pups. I had Mr. Wrangler, who is quite well behaved in his nerd mask (gentle leader). Poor Joshua had Miss Ellie, who is getting stronger by the day. We need to take them on more walks, because she is not a very good little girl on her leash. Nonetheless, it was quite a nice walk :) We then watched Twilight. How how how is that movie so popular? The acting is downright awful. I mean, the story is good, but the acting RUINS it. Bella is so drab and angry we both wanted to punch the TV. Edward wasn't so bad, but the actor is so much better as Cedric Diggory! Despite how awful the movie was, I would still watch the others just to see how the story turns out. Or perhaps I should suck it up and read the books... hmmmm.

Saturday was a super fun day! We started off the day by heading to the mall for some Halloween shopping! We got our outfits picked out successfully (we found $11 on the floor in the mall - SCORE!). Then, it was off to Momo's for some deliciously oversized pizzas. Quite the tasty lunch! Then we headed off to show the townhouse (yes, we are still paying rent there. Major UGH). After that, we headed home to watch the FSU game. Major bummer that it wasn't on any channel, and not even online. Soooooo, we watched the VT game and carved our pumpkins!! They turned out cute, considering we used no special tools and had no stencils:

Once these pumpkins were carved, I got to go through their guts and pick out the seeds. Took for.ev.er. and was super messy, BUT the roasted seeds are seriously delicious!! We spent the afternoon watching scary movies on TV, and then the peacock and the scary skeleton dude set off to our Halloween party! It was fun, definitely an adult party (we were by far the youngest people) - we pinned the tale on the cat, and Joshua ROCKED at bobbing for apples (I opted out of that activity, yucky). It was a fun time :)

Sunday was a nice, relaxing day! We hung out around the house, mostly. Watched some "Young Frankenstein" and some "Lost Boys." I made beef stroganoff in the crock pot, which turned out delicious but not very photogenic, haha! The pups got a bath, the cats laid around..... lovely day =)

I hope everyone has a great Halloween! I'm hoping for lots of cute trick-or-treaters. The more trick-or-treaters, the less fattening candy I feel obligated to eat :)

Blogging at work... tisk, tisk.

Oh wait, I only blog at work... it is the most boring part of my day, after all!

Joshua and I got invited to a Halloween party (thrown by one of his coworkers) on Saturday. Hooray!! Sooooo, we definitely do not have costumes, because we didn't plan on being popular this Halloween. Cheap, easy, cute costume ideas needed stat! Eek! Help?

I'm trying to figure out Thanksgiving/Christmas plans right now. More eek!! I'd love to go to Mechanicsville (where the Roses are!) for one holiday and Bedford (where the Brians are!) for another. Always good to see all the parents :) Being poor during the holidays is not easy!! Oh, dear. I just looked at costs of flights, and that is just depressing. Especially after we just spent so much on the wedding trip. BUT we will figure it out :) We always do! It's just a wee bit stressful trying to figure it all out...

I really don't have anything fun or exciting to share with you, especially considering the fact that I blogged twice yesterday, so that will have to do! Bye, guys <3

I have to, because I'm a warlock...

All together now: "bwhahahahahahahahahahahahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa"

Maybe this is how I should hand out candy this year...............

Cozy, Lazy, Wonderful Fall Weekend!

I had a very nice weekend :) I shall type about it!

Friday, I had the "late shift" at work, where I have to stay until 5:30 to answer phones (I typically leave at 3:30 on Friday). Well, I was over on my hours so I was out by 5:10, but still... ew. Once Joshua got home, we had a quick dinner and then headed off to Karen's for a quick brewsky! Why was everything so quick? Why we had a movie to catch! Paranormal Activity 3, to be exact! And yes, it was creepy creepy creepy-tastic! Poor Karen was terrified and spent half the movie hiding in my shoulder, muhahahaha! We were in the late night "we're so loud we have to scream at everything even if it's not remotely scary" crowd, soooo we missed a lot of dialogue, boo hiss. But it was still awesome!!!

Saturday, I started off the day with some delicious coffee, and then set up the crockpot with some super easy to make pork chops. We then headed off to show the townhouse; douchebag landlord sold the guy on one of his other properties, though. UGH. Soooo frustrating. After showing the townhouse, it was time for a Home Depot run!! Mission? RAKE! So exciting ;) We also got energy efficient bulbs and a light switch cover for the garage. Home ownership is exciting stuff, people. We then had a Wendy's feast, and headed home.

We then stuck the pups in the back of the Jeep, and headed off to the pumpkin patch!! Awww, they had a blast. I handled the Wrangler (he's super easy to walk when he has his "nerd mask" (gentle leader) on!). Miss Ellie was very excited with all of the kids around, so Joshua took control of her; he has man muscles and stuff :) The kids in the pumpkin patch adored my Wrangler dog. Ellie was so wiggly she kind of scared them, haha. Wrangler loved loved loved all of his attention. Since the doggies were a bit wired, we stuck them back in the car and got out pumpkins :)

Back at home, Joshua raked the backyard while I gave him moral support ;) Poor boo got a blister on his hand, soooo carving the pumpkins will have to wait until next weekend! Then, we watched the FSU game - WIN!!! Later, we ate the pork chops I made and GOODNESS they were good. Crockpots do wonders for pork chops; super tender! Then it was time for some Scream 3. I already knew the killer (whyyyyy do I always spoil myself?) but it was still enjoyable!

Sunday, we were super lazy kids and slept until 10; it was aaaaaamazing!! We were productive in the morning and moved the leather couch into the office - this was no easy task. We had to move it through the dining room, through the kitchen, and through a ridiculously tight hallway, but we did it! That bad boy is staying in that room for a while :)

The rest of the day was amazingly relaxing. We watched "Bad Teacher" - Cameron Diaz's character was so extreme in that movie, but it was good! We went to the store, made spaghetti, watched bad TV, and then watched "The Bourne Identity" :) Then we cuddled up in the warm bed, and sleptttttt.

That, my friends, was a long entry, and I do apologize for my ramblings. In other news, still miss and love you all :) OKBYE!

 Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!!!

Friday, October 21, 2011

You guys should be impressed...

.... because I'm blogging, again!!!

This means, once again, I am bored at work.

So, not much has changed since I blogged yesterday. I went home, ate tomato soup and asparagus for dinner (disgustingly healthy, I know, but keep reading). Joshua got stuck in a trial until super late (like, 8ish), so the children and I hung out and watched TV. All four snuggled on the couch with me (they say, "thank you, Grandma and Grandpa Rose, for our amazing new sofa!!"). When Joshua was finally let out of trial he was starving. Hungry Joshua got Hungry Howie's Pizza and Hungry Kaitlin ate two slices. 2nd dinner! Awesome :)

This weekend, we're taking the doggies to the pumpkin patch! I can't remember if I typed that yesterday (too lazy to go back an entry to check), but it's really exciting. Apparently Auntie Karen took Ellie to the pumpkin this past weekend while we were out of town. I'm taking her again, though! Can't wait to carve pumpkins and then roast the seeds. nom nom nom. Actually, I have no idea if they'll taste good, but it's worth a shot!

Speaking of pumpkins, I might make pumpkin cheesecake this weekend! I haven't decided yet, though, because the ingredients may be expensive (we're still living out budget lifestyle), so we shall see! If I don't make a pumpkin cheesecake, I will surely be buying something premade at the store for us to gobble up :) Here is the recipe I might make: http://www.skinnytaste.com/2009/09/pumpkin-spice-no-bake-cheesecake.html... To pumpkin-cheesecake or not pumpkin-cheesecake, that is the question!!

I will be busting out the slow cooker this weekend (for the first time, finally!!!), and I do believe I will be making these: http://crockpotgirls.com/crock-pot-mondays/most-amazing-pork-chops-ever... with a name like "Most Amazing Pork Chops Ever," how could I not make them???

I still miss everyone a lot a lot :( LOVE YOU ALL XOXO.

I said Brrrrr, it's cold out there!

Call me a wuss if you want, but it is freaking cold outside! 45 degrees at the moment; my poor little body was cold. Our house was so cold this morning, Ellie was upset and kept snuggling up to Wrangler. Poor lady, she's never felt cold like this before. We're taking her and Wrangler to the pumpkin patch this weekend - super excited about that!!!

Joshua worked his defense attorney magic yesterday and won another trial! The evidence was not in his favor, and somehow he still pulled it off! (can't go into details on the case on my blog, but we were both in shock after his client was found not guilty) Sooooo, we all know what a trial win means - Outback for dinner! Armed with a giftcard from the Brians, we went and ate ourselves a feast. Mahi Mahi and a Chocolate Thunder from Down Under (not mixed together, because that would be disgusting) - tasty dinner!!!

Work has been unbelievably boring this week. I'd say it is a waste of time, but I'm getting paid, so I won't say that :) My attorneys are out of the office Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday this week. I'm making up projects for myself to do, but there's only so much I can do! Entertain me, people!!!

I'm still missing home like whoa. It's always tough when I get back from a trip :( I get saaaaaad. Everyone just needs to relocate to Florida, please. <3

I actually do not have anything truly entertaining or blog-worthy to write about; I just needed an excuse to waste some time. I think I just successfully wasted 10 minutes. Only 7 hours and 50 minutes to go!!! Oh boy.

My Best Friend's Wedding.

This past weekend, I traveled to Virginia (husband in tow) for Jessica Bond's (now Nakamura) wedding! Such such such a fun weekend. I'm sad to be back in Florida, because I miss everyone, but am so thankful that I got to spend a weekend with family and friends :)

We left early early early Thursday morning and hurried up the coast to Virginia! Stopped for breakfast, gas, lunch, and that's it. We were in Virginia by 6pm, leaving plenty of time to hang with my family! My mom made meatloaf ~delish~ and we drank beers. Allison introduced Joshua and I to the Jersey Shore and all lingo used by the guidos and meatballs. Fun night with the family!!

Friday morning, it was off to U-Haul to get a trailer (to take my parents' old sectional couch down to Florida, woop!). Brilliant Kaitlin brought us to the wrong U-Haul location, so that took a bit longer than planned. oopsies ;) Once the U-Haul was straightened out, it was time for an IHOP breakfast with the family, husband, and Nanny. Delicious and fun breakfast!! Back home, the Rose/Brian clan used our muscles and keen packing abilities to load up the trailer with the couch. Before heading up to Northern Virginia, my mother and sister showed off their fabulous styling abilities, and helped me pick out this cutie patootie outfit from Kohl's:

Traffic to Northern Virginia was reeeeediculous. Rehearsal started at 5. We got to the hotel at 4:40, left at 4:50 ("supposedly" the town hall was 4 minutes away. No no no, Northern Virginia traffic would never allow that), and got to the hall 15 minutes late :( Everyone else was late, too, so my panic was quickly gone. Rehearsal went well, and then it was off to my favorite event - food! Dinner to be exact, at "The Auld Shabeen" - oh boy was it yum yum! In true Irish fashion (I am now Irish by marriage, mind you) I ordered the corned beef and cabbage and two of the house ale. Delish! Dinner was a great time, chatting with friends I haven't seen for a while. Jessica got Chris a Groom's Cake (photo below, of course), which turned everyone's mouths black :) We all looked ~gorgeous after the dinner!! After dinner, I made Joshua stop and get me more brewksies; two just wasn't enough! We had a dance party in the hotel, and went to bed by 10:30 like a couple of old folks :) Here are some pics from rehearsal:

Saturday was wedding day!!!!!!! We started off the day with a tasty (FREE) breakfast at the hotel ;) After that, we got ready and headed out! Off to the mall we went to get our rings clean so they looked fancy and shiny in the pictures. We hung around the mall, played with the new iPhone, ate some more food, and then off to the hotel I went. Poor hubby-boo was stuck in the hotel all day because nobody could play with him... sad stuff :( But I had fun with the ladies! We got to drink wine at the hotel bar in silk robes; that was definitely the highlight. Jessica looked GORGEOUS. Here are some photos of us getting ready:

After getting ready we all hopped in a LIMO. I had to write it in all capital letters because it's exciting. Why? I had never been in one before! Pathetic, yes, but I can now cross it off my bucket list :) We popped a bottle of champagne (well, Casie popped the bottle; I'm bottle popping challenged), and toasted to the almost-bride! It was super fun :)

The ceremony was lovely, very unique and nice. My poor feet went numb during it, but no worries! Chris's smile was so bright, and I could tell Jessica was beaming, even though I could only see the back of her head from where I was standing. Great ceremony!!

The reception was fun, too. Joshua and I got to hit the dance floor with our hot moves we practiced, and I got to dance with Miss Allison, too. I'm so glad my family was there so I could spend more time with them :) I also got to see a lot more friends that I hadn't seen in a long while! The Matron of Honor speech was SO terrifying, aaaaaaahhh! Public Speaker, I am not. But it was well received, so I guess I didn't screw it up too bad ;)  Picture of the happy couple:

We had to be super uncool old people and go to sleep instead of party after the reception, but we had a long trip back to Florida :( And boy was it long!!! I was sad most of the trip, because I hate leaving my friends and family behind. But at least I had the hubby with me, our new home to come back to, two very wiggly dogs and two very hungry cats :)

Miss all of you SO MUCH. I always feel sad for a few days after I get back from Virginia, because my trips are always too short. I need visits, please :) Love you all!!

This weekend I plan to get a pumpkin and may even roast its seeds; we shall see!!

Kaitlin the Blog Abandoner to the Rescue!

Well, hello there, everyone! Holy cow, my goodness gracious, oh dear, etc., I am quite the blog abandoner. I am currently dreadfully bored in my office, and felt compelled to revisit my little corner of the interwebs, so here I am. Prepare yourself for a long entry, because it has been quite a while.

When I left off, we were in the process of purchasing a home. Well, guess what folks... we are homeowners! It is a great feeling to know that we own a house, a yard, the trees, the driveway, even the fence. It's quite amazing :) Unfortunately, our lease on our townhome isn't through until mid-December (silly people, nobody wants to sublet!), soooo our finances are a wee bit tight at the moment, and we're unable to really put a lot of money into making the house fancy, but we have plans!! We'll paint, add bookshelves, buy more wall art, add something to the backyard to make it not-ugly, and do all sorts of fun things once we're not paying our lovely rent/mortgage combo. Soon, folks! Photographic evidence of our new home:

We officially had our first houseguests a couple of weeks ago. Yay Holly & Justin!!! We had delicious Carabbas together, shopped for FSU gear together, enjoyed happy hour at Chili's together, and tailgated together. It was a great time :) Now everyone else needs to visit, please. Now. Thanks. Evidence that we had friends visit:

Also, our puppy has gotten huge. She is over 30 pounds now, can catch tennis balls in her mouth, and no longer fits under our bed. She doesn't chew on or destroy everything anymore, and can hold her little bladder all day, so I don't have to go home during lunch anymore. Our little lady is a "legal beagle" as the vet says. Next stop: getting her fixed, poor baby. Here is evidence of how enormous the lady has gotten (and how cute she is):

Life has been good down here. The weather has been absolutely gorgeous down here (so much so, I had to italicize it for emphasis). We've been eating delicious food and drinking delicious beverages. We've been watching TV (I'm currently loving these new shows: "New Girl" and "Two Broke Girls" and love love "Raising Hope"). We got a 2nd TV so he can nerd (play videogames) while I'm a couch potato. Pretty exciting stuff, I know. We celebrated the arrival of fall last weekend with overpriced beer. Evidence of this event:

I'm getting super duper excited about our journey to Virginia next week. 12 hours of me serenading my poor, poor husband in the car (followed by another 12 hour drive a few days later). BUT IT WILL BE WORTH IT. I get to see my favorite people, ride in a limo for the first time in my life, wear a purple dress, eat delicious food with fellow food-appreciators, and see all of my favorite people (so happy I had to add that one twice). Evidence of my excitement:

YAAAAAAAAAAAAAY

Sadly, I have been interrupted by work. What. the. heck? Love you all, byeeeeee!

I'm Writing a Blog, hey hey hey HEY!

Happy Thursdayyyyyyy! I'm blogging. At work. Whatevs.

So, once again, Kaitlin is a slacker. SO, in news of the Brians... the offer on the house got accepted, we're under contract, our loan was approved, and we close on September 20th. Woop woop holler! I'm nervous about announcing it on Facebook for the world to see, because I'm nervous that the loan won't go through (the guy who had the house under contract before us got his loan rejected the day before the house closed because he messed up his credit, eek!). But all my loyal readers are pretty swell, so you guys are in on it. Another awesome thing? Because of the market crash earlier in the week, our interest rate is locked in at 3.75% Freaking awesome, man. We're very excited. Although, we're a bit broke for a while due to the initial holding fee, inspection fee, and appraisal fee. Budget living for the next month or so! But we're both used to that, so we should be fine :) Check out these picturessss, never before seen!

In other news, I miss my hubby! He's been at the University of Florida all week schmoozing with wealthy defense attorneys and members of the queen's council. Oh he fancy, huh? Fancy hubby needs to come home to tired wifey and help take care of wild and crazy four-legged children. My legs and feet look like I've been through a war zone; so covered in cuts, ant bites, bruises, etc. Puppies are dangerous. But so worth it :) I mean, just look at this little face (awwww):

I miss all of y'all (yes, y'all) a lot, and wish you could all come down to Tallahassee and snuggle with the puppy in the new house. Pleeeeeeease :) Love, love!!!

Potential grownup purchase!

Hello, blog followers! Yes, I have been slacking off again. Like, hardcore, yikes!

Nothing super exciting has been going on, just the normal stuff. As I'm typing this, Josh just discovered the puppy just destroyed the wiring on his $75 Xbox headset. CRAP. She chewed through it. That's depressing.

Moving on, let's talk about happy stuff! WE MAY PUT AN OFFER ON A HOME TOMORROW!! Look at this cutie place:

OOOOOO AAAAAAAAA

It's SO cute, guys. Cute layout, gorgeous and large kitchen with new appliances, big fenced in backyard, great garage with toolshed, fireplace, best school system in Tallahassee, 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, indoor laundry, yadda yadda yadda. Eeeeee! Perfect little starter home for us. The dogs will love the backyard. The cats will love those french doors looking onto it. I'm excited :) Of course it would be nice if it was in Virginia, buttttt it's in a really nice area of Tallahassee, annnnd it will give people an excuse to visit us! :)

Next week Joshua is leaving me to go to University of Florida for a seminar/class thingy on trial techniques. I'm going to be lonely, ugh! And I have to take care of all four children on my own. Major yikes! But I'm super proud of him for being chosen to attend, and his office is paying for everything, so YAY FOR THE HUBBY-BOO!

Miss you alllllllllllllllllll!!! See you in October <3 Not too far away!!

Mmm Mmm Strawberry Shortcake.

Oh yes, I just had a mighty fine slice of strawberry shortcake. Whenever somebody at my office has a birthday, we get cake. Nom nom nom!!

I hope everyone had a lovely weekend! We had a swell one :)

Friday night, we had a date night! We went to 101 Restaurant downtown for dinner. They were a bit pricey, so I got an appetizer and a salad. I ended up with bleu cheese pub chips and a caesar salad. Strange dinner? Oh yes. Amazing? OH YES. And, they have 1/2 off all drinks for happy hour so I got myself a glass of wine. Delish! After that, we went to see Captain America (because I married a nerd, and I love him for it), and it was good! Not as good as Iron Man or Batman, but still good. And the dude was hot. Sooooo, that was nice!

It's the weirdest thing, I'm having brainfarts as to what we did on Saturday. I know I cooked pasta, I know we hung out with the dogs, I know it was a nice, relaxing day, but wtf did we do? I worry myself sometimes. I know I watched The Roommate while Josh got his nerd on, and I know the movie sucked pretty bad.

Sunday we took the doggies on a playdate with Karen! We walked them through some nature trails with Karen's dogs. They had a blast! Ellie no longer needs her crate (she can barely fit in it), so she rode in the car like a big dog (pictures to follow on Facebook). She ran off once during the walk because she thought she knew her way home (I think she was following our scents) and Josh had to go catch her. Silly girl :)

After that, we had Karen over for tacos, beer, and a movie! We watched The Adjustment Bureau and I thought it was excellent - highly recommend it! It was a good day.

Yesterday, I worked (duh). We watched Red Riding Hood, which got awful reviews (11% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes), but we thought it was actually good. Either the reviewers are wrong or Josh and I are wrong. I like to think it's the former, not the latter.

We successfully sold an item on Craigslist for the first time, and are filing quite accomplished! We had ordered a large crate for Ellie off of Amazon, thinking it would help the barking problem. Turns out, she's been awesome just hanging with Wrangler outside of her crate while we're at work. No more barking!! So, we sold the crate for 50 cents more than we bought it for - hellz yeah, a profit!

And this has been my afternoon rambling. <3 you all. MUAH!

Oh hi, please comment. Thanks.

Sooooooooo, I know I haven't blogged in a while. But you guys haven't commented in a while! It's no fun preaching to the choir when the choir is a bunch of mutes! okthanksbyeimdonebeingmeannowbye.

SO, life. Life is good. Last night I entered the most fantastic food coma/beer coma ever. We had Outback for dinner (Joshua won a trial, booyah! Got a kid off on his felony and got a teacher in BIG trouble (turns out, HE may be the felon)). I ordered a big bloke Stella Artois, a thousand island salad, a medium rare 6 ounce sirloin with a bleu cheese crust, and green beans. This meal is also known as "heaven." And I ate every last bit of that heaven. Down to the last little speck of bleu cheese.

Yumm, beeeeer, taaasty (mom, did you show dad the coasters?)

So, the children! How are my children doing? Let's see, one by one.

Miss Tollie: She is doing well! Loving yet independent, as always, with her wonderful little love attacks. Miss Tollie does not really approve of the Ellie, but she tolerates her. Miss Tollie never really tolerates any other animal, because she's in charge of the house :) Here, admire her beauty:

Mr. Parker: Still the cutest, whiniest, most loving little ball of fur that I have ever met. He is still annoyed by the puppy, but he's gotten comfortable with her. He likes to smell her while she sleeps. But when she's awake and in hyper-puppy mode, he stays clear! Or hides, as so:

Wrangler Dog is still as awesome as ever. He freaking adores the Elle-bug. She tries to sleep, and he just wants to play. I think she's bringing out the puppy in him, and it's too cute :) The jealousy is a bit much (any time you give her attention, he jumps between you and the puppy), but he's being good. Such a stud muffin! Admire his studly-ness:

And then there's the newest addition, Miss Ellie. She has gotten sooo much bigger! She can reach the bed now, but still can't jump on it. Is almost brave enough to go down the stairs. She has an unhealthy obsession with chewing shoes and eating goose turds (so.freaking.nasty.). But at 10 weeks old, the lady is housebroken, which is absolutely amazing! And we've only been having to wake up to let her about about once or twice a night. Look at that little baby face:

And Mr. and Mrs. Brian, that's us, are doing well. Joshua is very proud of himself for his court win! He'll be leaving me for a week in August to go to a course at UF (hand selected as the only attorney out of the 32 northern counties his office covers to attend). So proud, but I will be oh so lonely. At least I'll have those four cutie faces to keep me company :)

We're still looking at houses. We talked to the bank about the price range we should be looking at, and it's slightly lower than we'd hoped, but we'll find something! What sucks is we don't qualify for the first time home buyer's assistance program because we make too much money. Ha! Yeah right. Ugh.

I haven't been posting many photos of food lately, because we've been cooking easy, cheap dinners, which seem to repeat themselves (i.e. grilled cheese and tomato soup, spaghetti, tacos, etc.). But no fear folks, we have been cooking and have rarely been eating out! I've been going home for lunch every day since we got the puppy, so I haven't been eating out for lunch either. And Josh has been eating lunch at his office, too. We're saving, saving, saving!

Umm, we saw Harry Potter last weekend and it.was.AMAZING. Please look at our nerdy, terrible, poorly lit photo below in our cool-kid 3d glasses!

Ummmm, so what else has been going on? Work is boring, as usual, except for the stalker my office has. Death threats? Check. Threats to sue? Check. Wacky dosie doe music over the phone? Check. Handwritten jumbled faxes? Check. OH boy, Florida, you produce the wack jobs. Other than that, work = SO BORING. Ugh.

My dinosaur (aka my computer) is getting sleepy now, and I must give it some rest. It's spazzing out and I don't want to lose the blog. So, this marks the end of the blog. Booyah!

Ummmmmmmm, please comment if you read this, just so I know someone actually read it. Thanks <3

Slacker, Slacker, Tisk, Tisk

I have been reminded that I am a blogging slacker, and indeed I am - oops!

Soooooooo, last time I blogged, I was about to leave for Virginia. VIRGINIA WAS GREAT! We got to Mechanicsville at about 1:30am Saturday, and hung out with the family until it was ridiculously late.

Saturday, we had lunch with the Brockelmans, walked around Short Pump (oh, how I miss that mall), and had a nice snacky dinner (oh, how I missed mom's cooking even more than Short Pump). We watched The Hangover with my mom, and it was awesome, as usual!

Sunday, it was off to NoVa! Allison drove Josh and I up there in her fancy pants new car! First, it was brunch at Chadwick's! Mmm, mmm, freaking mmm I missed that place! Soooo good. Then it was pool time at Justin's with him, Holly, Chris, Jessica, Joshua, and Allison. It was fun :) Then some spaghetti with the Nakamuras (hey, I can just go ahead and start calling you guys that), and then back to Mechanicsville. It was great to see my friendssssss and their bling bling!

Monday was a Rivah day! Wrangler swam SO much and was in heaven. Ellie was a bit timid near the water, but ended up swimming for a few seconds, and I think she had a great time :) I miss the Rivah, and it was good to visit it! Meatloaf was Monday's meal of choice, and it was quite tasty (again, my mom's cooking: amazing).

Tuesday was the long, sad trip back to Florida where we spent the first hour moping about going back to the land of the evil red ants. Joshua got the cats Tuesday night, and our cute little family was back in the townhome.

The rest of the week was incredibly boring. And it was a relaxing weekend full of beer, food, and Entourage marathons. Josh tried applying to the FBI on Saturday, working hours on the application, only to find out that they're not currently accepting applications. BULL. Sunday we had to buy a new mailbox because some mofo hit ours and it won't shut. BULL. Sunday night we went to TGIFridays with Karen and her new hubby; we didn't get there until after 9:30 (almost my old lady bedtime), so I was quite sleepy, but my glass of wine woke me up and it was fun :)

This week has been okay so far. Ellie has discovered her bark, and I'm sure our neighbors (who freaking NEVER go anywhere and are ALWAYS home WTF) don't appreciate her new hobby. She can now go down the steps on the deck, and go up the steps in the house! Such a big girl :) Josh and I are looking for "big girl" crates for her, because she's quickly outgrowing the cat crate.

We've also started the house hunt. We want more room for the pets, a fenced in yard for the dogs, and a place where we're not attached to our neighbors. House hunting is fun so far, we went to some open houses on Sunday and they were gorgeous... probably because they were outside of our pricerange - oops! We're going to make a meeting with a lendor and a realtor to figure out what exactly we can afford, and start the search! Very exciting :) It's funny, whenenver a young married couple walks into an open house, a realtor always points out the room that's ideal for a nursery. So funny!

Sooooooooooooooo, there's my life update. Miss all of y'all in VA already <3

And back to work I go. All of the attorneys are in a meeting, so this was the perfect time to blog :)

okthanksbyebyenow.

Attempting to type a blog... :)

... While Miss Tollie is having a love attack, haha! Funny lady keeps rubbing against my hands as I try to type! Josh is downstairs watching the puppies, and I'm up here with the kittens :)

We had a very nice weekend.  Saturday morning, we packed up the dogs, said bye to the cats, and went down to Clearwater. We hung out at the Kellards' for a bit (Ellie was a hit!), then off to Robin (Josh's cousin) and Chris's wedding at the MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa. It was on the water, and despite the ominous clouds, only a few drops of rain! We had a very nice time :) We even got back to the Kellard's to catch the tail end of Josh's grandpa's 80th Birthday.

Sunday we hung out at the Condo and then spent some time at St John's Pass with Josh's mom - it was fun! A lot of cute little beach shops. We then ate lunch with the girl that babysat Josh as a kid. Haha :) Good stories, of course! Then, home to the kitties!

We've been very sleepy this week. Taking Ellie out a few times a night is taking its toll on us, definitely. We took the dogs for a walk tonight and were dragging more than them! I'm definitely going to bed early tonight. Definitely!

I'LL BE HOME ON FRIDAY! Er, super early on Saturday, but still... YAY!!!

Ellieeee!

First off, HAPPY BELATED 21ST BIRTHDAY TO ALLISON!

Second off, HAPPY BELATED FATHER'S DAY TO DAAAAD!

Third off, HAPPY ENGAGEMENT TO HOLLY!

Fourth off, HI MOM!

Fifth off, HI JESSICA! FOOD <3

(does anyone else read this?)

Sixth off, I apologize for being a complete slacker.

Seventh off, WE GOT A PUPPYY!

Yes. We are crazy.

Her name is Ellie. She is a chocolate lab. She is 6 weeks old. She is a smelly Ellie <3 We have learned that 6 weeks is probably too young for her to be taken away for her mom. She's definitely having separation anxiety, but we've been helping her through it as much as we can! The first night, she slept in the bathroom and it was a disaster. Cried all night. No sleep for us! The second night, we started with the box method my mom suggested - we put a box with towels and toys on Josh's side of the bed, so he could comfort her when she started yelping. That didn't last long because of the constant scratching on the side of the box in an attempt to get out. So, we spoiled her. She slept on the bed with us :) She did okay. But still, no sleep for us. She is such a sweet little lady, though. And she's been good about not pooping/peeing in the house (except for a little incident this morning where she pooped on my foot... on accident!) Wrangler likes her but is still iffy. The cats are a little freaked out by her. It's so funny to see how much bigger than her they are! Monster kittens!!!! Sooooo, here's Miss Ellie:

Let's see... in other news, I got a haircut (photo below, with a cameo by miss Tollie <3). Ummm, I made an amazing chicken dish Friday night (photo below). We're going to a wedding and an 80th birthday party this weekend. Weekend after that - VIRGINIA! Oh, how I've missed you so! I'm very excited for a visit. Umm, our lake is gone. Someone mowed the grass that grew where I lake used to be. It was kind of sad. Joshua took Ellie to the vet today, and had to go to the office after. Ellie is going with him to his office to say hello! She's healthy :) So, it's just me, the cats (they're having a box party), and Wrangler (he's sleeping under the table), just like the old days, haha! Tonight, I cook SPAGHETTI! I'm currently beveraging on a Bud Light - gotta cut them calories! Next week I'm going to dance classes - we had to reschedule from this week to next week. Ummm, a red ant bit my foot, and it's obnoxiously itchy. But as long as it didn't bite Joshua's foot, I'm okay. What else? I need to buy wrapping paper for this wedding gift - crappos! I forgot :) Ummmm, wow I'm boring. But I got bugged by a certain mom of mine to blog.

Haircut & Tollie!

Mmm, chicken!

Alcoholic, ahem coffeeholic, wifey signing out!
