23 Weeks!

How far along: 23 Weeks.

Size of Baby: Size of a Mango.

Neat facts about baby: She can feel me dance (hopefully she won't pick up on my nerdy dance moves) and can hear outside noises like music and Ellie's barks, and will be comfortable with those noises when she's born :) Blood vessels in her lungs are developing so she can breath.

Total weight gain: The doctor said 13 pounds, which he described as "textbook weight gain" so yay! However, based on the number they wrote down, I think it's only 10 pounds. I don't know where all that weight is hiding, though!

What I miss: Wine!!! I had a baby sip of red wine this weekend, my first taste since Valentine's Day, and it was soooo. gooood.

Sleep: Not so great. My hips have been getting really sore, which pretty much blows.

Symptoms: Growing belly and crazed belly button, still. I am still feeling great, though!!

Cravings/Aversions: Seriously, CHOCOLATE.
.
Movement: She has been moving a lot lately, mostly when I'm sitting down. She moved when I was walking around the other day and it felt soo strange.

Maternity clothes: Nope! I did order a BellaBand which I should get Thursday. Right now I'm doing the "pony tail holder through the button loop" trick to expand my jeans' waste lines. I seriously do not want to buy ugly maternity pants.

Best moments this week: Getting the cradle from Josh's parents and starting to do my crib research! I pre-registered for the hospital last night, and also registered for birth classes! Also, hearing her heartbeat yesterday :)

What I'm looking forward to: I want to start setting up the nursery! Too bad we don't have anything for it yet, haha :)

Milestones: Hearing her heartbeat, which is always amazing. And signing up for birth classes!

And a bonus picture for the blog followers only (who wants to see my unclothed belly on Facebook? ew). Here's a better view of just how big the belly is getting and how tight my usually too large khakis are (taken at work this morning, bwhahahaha):

A weekend by the water.

Joshua and I had a lovely weekend in St Petersburg, helping his parents fix up his grandparents' condo before the new owners move in.

One of the best parts is I had an excuse to leave work at 2:30 on Friday to go home and get everyone ready to go. Josh had to work until around 5:30, so I got to relax on the couch and watch a live stream of the Olympic opening ceremonies. Once he got home, we got the dogs ready, set the cats up for their weekend at home, and hit the road! First stop was Dunkin Donuts where I had a wonderful decaf iced coffee :) We stopped at Chipotle for dinner. We finally got to the condo around 11pm. We hung out with his parents for a while and then I collapsed into bed, exhausted.

Saturday, we got IHOP for breakfast (PANCAKES!) and worked around the condo for the rest of the day. We had a delicious steak dinner, watched some Olympics (mmm, male swimmers and volleyball players), and then I collapsed into bed, exhausted again.

Sunday, we had breakfast at the condo (delish) and then worked on things more. Due to my "condition" aka "growing a baby" I wasn't much help in the realm of lifting, so I was more of a "dog watcher" and "light switch operator." After a nice day, it was time to hit the road back to Tallahassee. We had Dunkin Donuts for dinner, nom nom nom. We were making such great timing, talked about how we were making such great timing, and then hit a backup at 10pm. Three car accident with a tractor trailer, ugh. We finally got home slightly before 11, unpacked the car, checked on the kitties, and then I collapsed into bed, exhausted once again.

It was a nice weekend. I love just sitting out on the dock watching the water; we'll miss that about the condo. We brought a cradle back with us, which was handmade by Josh's great-grandfather. Josh and his brothers all slept in it as babies :)

Now, I'm back in the office (ugh), but at least I get to leave early again for our doctor's appointment this afternoon! :) They're always exciting.

22 Weeks!

How far along: 22 Weeks.

Size of Baby: Size of a Papaya.

Neat facts about baby: She can now hear outside noises from inside the womb, so Josh and I were practicing calling people "silly ninnies" while driving :) Her face is fully formed, and her nipples are growing. She's settling into sleep cycles, sleeping 12-14 hours per day.

Total weight gain: As of last night, 6 pounds total. However, my weight has been fluctuating like crazy, so I have no clue.

What I miss: Eggs over easy. Josh's IHOP over easy eggs looked so much better than my scrambled eggs this weekend. Oh well, better to be safe than sorry :)

Sleep: Still sucky, but I'm managing. If my hips start to hurt, I grab an extra pillow and put it between my legs and it usually helps!

Symptoms: Just the growing belly! I swear my belly button is going to pop out at any moment; it's starting to look crazy. I feel great, though!

Cravings/Aversions: Back to that whole I NEED CHOCOLATE thing.
.
Movement: She has been having some dance parties, especially when I'm sitting at my desk or when we're watching Breaking Bad. Josh got to feel her kick on Sunday, which was pretty awesome!

Maternity clothes: Not yet. I'm considering getting one of those belly band things since I have been unbuttoning my jeans for comfort; we'll see :) And all of my shirts just keep getting shorter, and shorter, and shorter!

Best moments this week: Buying some artwork for the nursery, getting the new carpet in the nursery, nesting like a lunatic, deciding on a stroller and car seat we like, and Josh feeling her kick.

What I'm looking forward to: We have our next doctor's appointment on Monday; those are always exciting. And just nesting more to prepare for her arrival!

Milestones: Definitely looking pregnant now, and Josh feeling her kick :)

Delaying doing any work.

Who am I kidding? I have no work to do at the moment. Slow week last week and probably a slow week this week. That means, time to blog!

Thursday, we got our new carpet installed - hooray!!!! I thought I had taken a picture, but I didn't. Just imagine a room with carpet is below.

Friday, after the longest 6 hour work day ever, I went home to relax a little while. Then, Josh got home, and I bugged him to take me to Hobby Lobby so I could use my coupon to buy art for the nursery that I had seen earlier. Then we had a lovely outdoor Chipotle date and got to listen to college girls behind us talk about how they, "like totally need to party at the Kappa house more often," and were, "like totally going to get wasted and pass out tonight." Dude, we felt so old. We then headed home to watch The Dark Knight. I actually stayed awake until 11:30pm watching it. Take that, college girls; I'm still cool and hip. Here's the cute artwork we got:

Saturday, we woke up super early, got ready super fast, and then drove to IHOP. I had some eggs, bacon, hash browns, pancakes, and coffee. AMAZING. Then, it was off to the mall to catch the 9am showing of The Dark Knight Rises. We got to the mall at 8am and the movies weren't even open yet so we decided to continue in our old-married-couple festivities and be mall walkers. Of course, by the time we got back to the theater, there was a huge line. #typical. We waited in line, got our tickets, and watched the show. You know it's a popular movie when your 9am showing is nearly sold out - our theater was super full. Yes, I was nervous for like the first 20 minutes of the movie, especially due to Creeper #1 sitting next to us in army pants and combat boots and Creeper #2 who would not sit down and just stood in the aisle. I finally calmed my nerves and enjoyed the movie and it was awesome. We really enjoyed it :) After the movie, we headed for Home Depot to look at ceiling fans and closet doors for the nursery (figure we'd update everything while it's empty), went to Publix to grab dinner, and headed home for some relaxation and Breaking Bad marathon on Netflix. Apparently, I'm nesting like a crazy person. While watching the show, I unpacked and repacked boxes just so they were more organized. I went through all of my stuffed animals and then repacked them. According to Josh, I'm a "Nesty McNesterson." We had plans to make spaghetti for dinner, but thanks to some leftover pizza I ate for lunch, I wasn't hungry, so I ate popcorn and watched My So Called Life on Netflix. Awesome.

Sunday, we woke up at normal weekend time, thank goodness. We had our morning coffee, relaxed (while I nested more, crazy), and then headed off to Babies R Us to look at strollers. Our favorite is this set:

It's kind of big, but doesn't feel bulky, it's all terrain so it will be good for walks around the block, it's gender neutral so if we have a boy down the road, we can reuse it, and I think it's pretty. According to my dad, it's missing a wheel, which is true, but we like it :) After we looked at strollers, we went to Target and bought some tubs so I could nest some more by organizing our baby things. We watched more Breaking Bad and had some spaghetti for dinner. I tried watching the Teen Choice Awards (don't judge, Sunday TV sucks), but I do not support any show that names Kristen Stewert their "Choice Actress." Ugh.

So, that was our weekend! Next weekend we'll be down in St Petersburg with the Brians! First, I must survive a week at the office.

Here's a cute bonus picture of my little family (I think they like their dad):

Tollie, Joshua, Wrangler, Ellie, and Parker :)

21 Weeks!

How far along: 21 Weeks.

Size of Baby: Size of a Pomegranate.

Neat facts about baby: Her taste buds are starting to work! She's going to be a food lover like her mom ;) She is practicing swallowing and digesting by drinking amniotic fluid. She already has her lifetime supplies of eggs in her womb - that is crazy!!

Total weight gain: My weight apparently fluctuates like crazy. I weighed myself last night and I weighed 2 pounds more than last week. I weighed myself this morning and I was back down those 2 pounds. Either my body is silly, or our scale is silly.

What I miss: Still sitting down with a nice glass of wine or a beer. I have to stop watching shows where people are drinking. I just fill my champagne flute up with sparkling water, though, and I feel better.

Sleep: Ugh, it is sucking. And my hips hurt from stressing over only laying on my sides. I'm contemplating purchasing a body pillow to help.

Symptoms: Just some cramping, but they go away after laying on the couch for a little while. Nothing major!

Cravings/Aversions: I really want some pancakes...
.
Movement: She's still moving around, but not as much as last week. She must have found a comfortable position :)

Maternity clothes: Still not in maternity clothes, but my clothes are fitting me differently. My pants (the ones that are still comfortable) fit strangely, and I'm having to unbutton them while sitting at my desk. My shirts are all a bit shorter in the front these days ;) I'm wearing a lot of dresses to work, just because it makes the whole 8 hours of sitting down much more comfortable.

Best moments this week: Getting the box from my family filled with the adorable things in my previous post (plus a couple other things, like bath rags, that didn't make the photos), hearing that my baby shower date is set (October 6th!!), and ripping up the ruined carpeting in the nursery (thanks a lot, miss Ellie) to prepare for the new carpet! Nesting like a crazy person!

What I'm looking forward to: Getting the new carpet in the nursery, choosing a stoller/car seat combo - that is stressing me out so finally choosing will be exciting, and my baby shower (hey, I know it's a long way off, but I'm still looking forward to it!).

Milestones: Finally looking pregnant and not like a drank too many beers to went to an all-you-can-eat buffet.

Weekend, where did you go?

I hope everyone had a nice weekend! Ours was very nice and relaxing :)

We met up after work on Friday (I got to bug Josh at his office for a little while; that's always fun) and then headed to the carpet place to order carpet for the nursery (finally!). It's getting installed Thursday morning, hooray!! We had some spinach and feta frozen pizza for dinner, followed delicious cheesecake (Josh got another one of the huge sampler cheesecakes - amazing!). We then started watching "Breaking Bad" on Netflix, which is a great show! Although, some scenes are a bit brutal for me, and I have to cover my eyes (wuss).

Saturday, we had our morning coffee and headed out to Sears to pick up our lawn mower! Free lawn mower with only $100 refurbishing... not too shabby! After that, we headed to Bealls (to get Kuerig coffee) and Home Depot (to get a gas can, as the ones at Sears sucked). We then went to a new place called Newk's for lunch. I got this salad:

And it was freaking amazing. I have a new favorite salad in my life. So, Josh and I ate outside for lunch, right by the door, so we witnessed a lot of people. Apparently we were looking extra young yesterday (both in shorts and t-shirts) because we had two occasions of people treating us like kids. First: a cute little boy was playing next to our table and Josh and I were smiling and waving at him. His grandparents look at us and were like, "oh, you two have a long way to go before you're ready for one of those." Josh responded, "well, we are having our first in November." The people looked a bit shocked and I think they thought I was 16 and pregnant. Gosh! Second: Some old dude walked by our table and picked up a napkin (which was not from our table and had just blown over from another table), looked at Josh and I, and asked, "has this been here since you got here?" We were like, "yes." And he said, "alright, it better have been." We just sat there like, WTF? The dude spoke to us like we a couple of high school idiots. Such a le douchebag.

After lunch, we headed home so Josh could cut the grass (lawn mower worked great) and I could trim our hedges (which were practically six feet tall, woops). Then we relaxed, watched more Breaking Bad, and relaxed some more. We made bratwurst for dinner, and watched more Breaking Bad. Then finally at about 8:30, FedEx dropped off the package filled with baby girl things from my family. I had sooo much fun playing with everything! Exciting. We then watched more Breaking Bad before bed, bwhahaha (the husband is addicted).

Yesterday, we had our morning coffee, ripped up the carpet in the nursery to prepare for our new carpet, and then headed to Wal-Mart to get life's necessities (paper towels, kitty litter, dishwasher detergent... all of the exciting things). I made Josh take me to Wing Stop for lunch, bwhahaha. Then, we cleaned out the garage and donated a bunch of stuff to Goodwill. The garage looks awesome right now! We had a great dinner: Steaks, brussel sprouts, rice au gratin, and potato rolls. nom nom nom! Then, you guessed it, we watched Breaking Bad until bed time.

It was a lovely weekend :)

PS: MONDAYS SUCK.

20 Weeks!

How far along: 20 Weeks.

Size of Baby: Size of a Banana.

Neat facts about baby: Her lady parts are being formed; how fancy! Her taste buds are working, so she can taste all of the amazing food I'm feeding her :)

Total weight gain: I lost one pound from last week (no clue why that happened), so now I'm down to three pounds total. I think my little lady likes food as much as me and is stealing it all.

What I miss: Red wine. And I could totally go for some good sushi.

Sleep: Some nights I sleep great, other nights I sleep horribly. I keep ending up on my back, though, even though I'm not supposed to be.

Symptoms: Growing belly :) I feel great!

Cravings/Aversions: Red wine, haha! And chocolate, still.
.
Movement: I can definitely feel her fluttering around in there! Josh keeps trying to feel but she hasn't moved for him yet. They need to coordinate their timing. She's really moving around this morning, and of course he's at work and cannot feel it!

Maternity clothes: My work pants, which are mostly high wasted, are not comfortable anymore. I'm starting to just wear dresses to work. My jeans are fine because they're low wasted. No official maternity clothes, though :)

Best moments this week: Adding stuff to registries (Babies"R"Us and Pottery Barn Kids), feeling her moving, and eating an amazing frozen yogurt covered in stuff and blaming pregnancy ;) She also got some fun gifts from Karen last night (two adorable onesies, a doggie pacifier, a pink bib that says "My Mom is hotter than your Mom" (so true), and some toys to hang in her car seat). Lots of pink!

What I'm looking forward to: Whenever Josh and the little lady can coordinate their timing and he can feel her move. Also deciding on strollers, car seats, etc. and getting the carpet replaced in the nursery so we can start messing with it!

Milestones: Feeling the fluttering lady :)

WTF, Monday?

WTF, Monday? Why are you here already? I was not prepared for you.

I had a lovely weekend with the husband. We're doing our best to relax while we still can ;)

Joshua took our Wrangler-dog to the vet on Friday. He is 73 pounds, the doctor thinks he's 10 years old (awww, old man), and he is very healthy :) Our little puppy was not happy about being left alone. Josh took a video of her crying when he left with Wrangler and holy cow, guys, it sounded like a kennel full of upset dogs. I don't know how one, tiny puppy could make that much noise! I honestly don't remember what we did/ate Friday night, oh dear. Silly brain farts! I think we probably watched Game of Thrones and ate some food... details have vanished from my memory. (YES! I remembered; we ate Hungry Howies for dinner!)

I do know that I saw a commercial for pancakes Friday night, and woke up Saturday morning needing them. Instead of morning coffee time, we were at iHop for a feast by 9am. We both got the pancake platters and iced coffees, and oh my gosh was it amazing. Eggs, hash browns, bacon, buttermilk pancakes, coffee... heaven! And I had a coupon, booyah! After we had breakfast we went home to clean the house a bit (silly animals and their silly fur). We then headed to Babies"R"Us just to look around and see what's out there in terms of cribs, car seats, strollers, etc. There are so many options in every department, so I have been researching to determine what's the safest, lightest (as I am a wimp), sturdiest, etc. After that, it was off to the mall where I once again dragged Josh through the same baby departments we had gone through the week before, oops ;) I got a new bra and panties, bwhahaha. We had some smoothies for lunch. We got some of Josh's weight gaining powder at GNC where some dude complimented Josh on his voice and said he should be on the radio.. that was odd. Then we headed to Publix to grab dinner and home to relax! I watched "The Artist" (loved it) while Josh played video games, bwhahaha! We grilled some pork loin thingy for dinner, which was really tasty! Then we watched more Game of Thrones :)

Sunday, we had our morning coffee time, relaxed around the house (I researched car seats, strollers, etc. like all morning. I believe I'm a wee bit excited). I went on a random shopping adventure to look at baby stuff (again, I'm a bit excited) and shelving options for the nursery. He had some leftover pizza and I had grilled cheese for lunch. Then we relaxed a bit before heading out to get some frozen yogurt. Dude, I got chocolate frozen yogurt topped with chocolate chips and hot fudge. I thought I was done until we got to the cash register to pay and I saw they had gummy bears and gummy worms. I couldn't decide which I wanted, so I got both. As the dude was weighing my frozen yogurt (I think it weighed about a pound), Josh said, "geez, hun, way to look pregnant." Bwhahahahah! I love having an excuse to pig out :) Anyway, it was delicious and I ate the whole thing. I had gotten a $25 groupon to this frozen yogurt place for free somehow (thanks online deals), and now I wish I had bought like 20 of them. nom nom nom. We then went to Publix, relaxed at home a while longer, and made some tasty spaghetti. We finished season 2 of Game of Thrones and I even stayed up past my weeknight bedtime (stayed up until 10:30 - so hardcore).

Sooooooo, it was a lovely weekend. Exciting news: I can feel the little lady fluttery around in the belly. It's crazy! Preggers blog tomorrow :)

19 Weeks!

How far along: 19 Weeks.

Size of Baby: Size of a Mango.

Neat facts about baby: She (I can finally use the right pronoun!!) is working on her five senses right now. Nerve cells for her senses are forming in her brain. Fancy lady.

Total weight gain: Four pounds! (Note: we are working on finding batteries for our scale so I can track my weight gain and Josh can track is weigh gain - he's trying to bulk up!)

What I miss: Beer. We went to Outback Friday and everyone was drinking beer and it looked soooo goooood. I sat at the bar with a virgin daiquiri and it was delicious! And I miss sleeping on my stomach and back.

Sleep: Dude, I don't know if it's pregnancy related, but I haven't been sleeping well the past couple of nights. I don't know if I can blame that on the baby, though!

Symptoms: The belly is still growin'. It has been itchy, which I have read is normal, so I have been putting lotion on it. I also keep getting little headaches every morning.

Cravings/Aversions: CHOCOLATE! Lots and lots of it, please. And brussel sprouts? I ate them Thursday and Saturday - and I stopped at the store last night and just had to buy two bags of them.

Gender: GIRL!!! :) We both guessed girl, so we're very excited. I guess I won't include this part on future surveys, because I'm pretty sure the answer isn't going to change.
Movement: I can't tell, really. There's something going on in there, but no clue if it's the baby.

Maternity clothes: Still none :)

Best moments this week: Finding out we're having a girl, buying her presents, looking at dresses at the mall (omg they're all so little and cute), and looking at bedding.

What I'm looking forward to: Deciding on registry stuff, especially bedding :)

Milestones: Finding out we're having a little lady!!

Busy Bee!

I am actually busy at work today, but I have to squeeze in my Monday blog! It will be a short and sweet one, guys. Tuesday survey to follow tomorrow!

So, I got excited and already blogged about Friday :) Saturday was a nice day. We hung around the house, had some yummy chicken sausage for lunch, got a lawn mower from one of Josh's coworkers (our yard is looking a bit unruly), dropped it off at Sears to get repaired, got some frozen yogurt to cool off (thanks, Groupon, for $25 worth of free frozen yogurt - second trip planned for this upcoming weekend!), hung out around the house more, ate some baked shrimp for dinner, and then relaxed some more. I feel like I'm leaving a lot out. I probably am.

YUMMY!!!!
Sunday we had another amazingly lazy morning, more sausage for lunch, and then headed off to the mall for some time-wasting fun! I got some girly things at Bath and Body Works, Josh got a manly new video game, and he bought me an iced chai because I'm awesome. I dragged him into every baby department so that I could stare at the dresses and outfits, sooooooo cute! Then we went to Wal-Mart (never a good idea on a Sunday), headed home, I put some cookies in the oven, we ate half the package (woops!), we watched the new "21 Jump Street," he grilled some steaks for dinner, and then we had a relaxing evening :)

Presents we bought for the baby :)
