Trick or Treat, Smell my Feet.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!! Booooooohahahahahaaaaaaaaa!

Joshua and I had a lovely weekend down here in Tallahassee - the weather was gorgeous!!

Friday night, we took a nice walk around the neighborhood with the pups. I had Mr. Wrangler, who is quite well behaved in his nerd mask (gentle leader). Poor Joshua had Miss Ellie, who is getting stronger by the day. We need to take them on more walks, because she is not a very good little girl on her leash. Nonetheless, it was quite a nice walk :) We then watched Twilight. How how how is that movie so popular? The acting is downright awful. I mean, the story is good, but the acting RUINS it. Bella is so drab and angry we both wanted to punch the TV. Edward wasn't so bad, but the actor is so much better as Cedric Diggory! Despite how awful the movie was, I would still watch the others just to see how the story turns out. Or perhaps I should suck it up and read the books... hmmmm.

Saturday was a super fun day! We started off the day by heading to the mall for some Halloween shopping! We got our outfits picked out successfully (we found $11 on the floor in the mall - SCORE!). Then, it was off to Momo's for some deliciously oversized pizzas. Quite the tasty lunch! Then we headed off to show the townhouse (yes, we are still paying rent there. Major UGH). After that, we headed home to watch the FSU game. Major bummer that it wasn't on any channel, and not even online. Soooooo, we watched the VT game and carved our pumpkins!! They turned out cute, considering we used no special tools and had no stencils:

Once these pumpkins were carved, I got to go through their guts and pick out the seeds. Took for.ev.er. and was super messy, BUT the roasted seeds are seriously delicious!! We spent the afternoon watching scary movies on TV, and then the peacock and the scary skeleton dude set off to our Halloween party! It was fun, definitely an adult party (we were by far the youngest people) - we pinned the tale on the cat, and Joshua ROCKED at bobbing for apples (I opted out of that activity, yucky). It was a fun time :)

Sunday was a nice, relaxing day! We hung out around the house, mostly. Watched some "Young Frankenstein" and some "Lost Boys." I made beef stroganoff in the crock pot, which turned out delicious but not very photogenic, haha! The pups got a bath, the cats laid around..... lovely day =)

I hope everyone has a great Halloween! I'm hoping for lots of cute trick-or-treaters. The more trick-or-treaters, the less fattening candy I feel obligated to eat :)

Blogging at work... tisk, tisk.

Oh wait, I only blog at work... it is the most boring part of my day, after all!

Joshua and I got invited to a Halloween party (thrown by one of his coworkers) on Saturday. Hooray!! Sooooo, we definitely do not have costumes, because we didn't plan on being popular this Halloween. Cheap, easy, cute costume ideas needed stat! Eek! Help?

I'm trying to figure out Thanksgiving/Christmas plans right now. More eek!! I'd love to go to Mechanicsville (where the Roses are!) for one holiday and Bedford (where the Brians are!) for another. Always good to see all the parents :) Being poor during the holidays is not easy!! Oh, dear. I just looked at costs of flights, and that is just depressing. Especially after we just spent so much on the wedding trip. BUT we will figure it out :) We always do! It's just a wee bit stressful trying to figure it all out...

I really don't have anything fun or exciting to share with you, especially considering the fact that I blogged twice yesterday, so that will have to do! Bye, guys <3

I have to, because I'm a warlock...

All together now: "bwhahahahahahahahahahahahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa"

Maybe this is how I should hand out candy this year...............

Cozy, Lazy, Wonderful Fall Weekend!

I had a very nice weekend :) I shall type about it!

Friday, I had the "late shift" at work, where I have to stay until 5:30 to answer phones (I typically leave at 3:30 on Friday). Well, I was over on my hours so I was out by 5:10, but still... ew. Once Joshua got home, we had a quick dinner and then headed off to Karen's for a quick brewsky! Why was everything so quick? Why we had a movie to catch! Paranormal Activity 3, to be exact! And yes, it was creepy creepy creepy-tastic! Poor Karen was terrified and spent half the movie hiding in my shoulder, muhahahaha! We were in the late night "we're so loud we have to scream at everything even if it's not remotely scary" crowd, soooo we missed a lot of dialogue, boo hiss. But it was still awesome!!!

Saturday, I started off the day with some delicious coffee, and then set up the crockpot with some super easy to make pork chops. We then headed off to show the townhouse; douchebag landlord sold the guy on one of his other properties, though. UGH. Soooo frustrating. After showing the townhouse, it was time for a Home Depot run!! Mission? RAKE! So exciting ;) We also got energy efficient bulbs and a light switch cover for the garage. Home ownership is exciting stuff, people. We then had a Wendy's feast, and headed home.

We then stuck the pups in the back of the Jeep, and headed off to the pumpkin patch!! Awww, they had a blast. I handled the Wrangler (he's super easy to walk when he has his "nerd mask" (gentle leader) on!). Miss Ellie was very excited with all of the kids around, so Joshua took control of her; he has man muscles and stuff :) The kids in the pumpkin patch adored my Wrangler dog. Ellie was so wiggly she kind of scared them, haha. Wrangler loved loved loved all of his attention. Since the doggies were a bit wired, we stuck them back in the car and got out pumpkins :)

Back at home, Joshua raked the backyard while I gave him moral support ;) Poor boo got a blister on his hand, soooo carving the pumpkins will have to wait until next weekend! Then, we watched the FSU game - WIN!!! Later, we ate the pork chops I made and GOODNESS they were good. Crockpots do wonders for pork chops; super tender! Then it was time for some Scream 3. I already knew the killer (whyyyyy do I always spoil myself?) but it was still enjoyable!

Sunday, we were super lazy kids and slept until 10; it was aaaaaamazing!! We were productive in the morning and moved the leather couch into the office - this was no easy task. We had to move it through the dining room, through the kitchen, and through a ridiculously tight hallway, but we did it! That bad boy is staying in that room for a while :)

The rest of the day was amazingly relaxing. We watched "Bad Teacher" - Cameron Diaz's character was so extreme in that movie, but it was good! We went to the store, made spaghetti, watched bad TV, and then watched "The Bourne Identity" :) Then we cuddled up in the warm bed, and sleptttttt.

That, my friends, was a long entry, and I do apologize for my ramblings. In other news, still miss and love you all :) OKBYE!

 Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!!!

You guys should be impressed...

.... because I'm blogging, again!!!

This means, once again, I am bored at work.

So, not much has changed since I blogged yesterday. I went home, ate tomato soup and asparagus for dinner (disgustingly healthy, I know, but keep reading). Joshua got stuck in a trial until super late (like, 8ish), so the children and I hung out and watched TV. All four snuggled on the couch with me (they say, "thank you, Grandma and Grandpa Rose, for our amazing new sofa!!"). When Joshua was finally let out of trial he was starving. Hungry Joshua got Hungry Howie's Pizza and Hungry Kaitlin ate two slices. 2nd dinner! Awesome :)

This weekend, we're taking the doggies to the pumpkin patch! I can't remember if I typed that yesterday (too lazy to go back an entry to check), but it's really exciting. Apparently Auntie Karen took Ellie to the pumpkin this past weekend while we were out of town. I'm taking her again, though! Can't wait to carve pumpkins and then roast the seeds. nom nom nom. Actually, I have no idea if they'll taste good, but it's worth a shot!

Speaking of pumpkins, I might make pumpkin cheesecake this weekend! I haven't decided yet, though, because the ingredients may be expensive (we're still living out budget lifestyle), so we shall see! If I don't make a pumpkin cheesecake, I will surely be buying something premade at the store for us to gobble up :) Here is the recipe I might make: http://www.skinnytaste.com/2009/09/pumpkin-spice-no-bake-cheesecake.html... To pumpkin-cheesecake or not pumpkin-cheesecake, that is the question!!

I will be busting out the slow cooker this weekend (for the first time, finally!!!), and I do believe I will be making these: http://crockpotgirls.com/crock-pot-mondays/most-amazing-pork-chops-ever... with a name like "Most Amazing Pork Chops Ever," how could I not make them???

I still miss everyone a lot a lot :( LOVE YOU ALL XOXO.

I said Brrrrr, it's cold out there!

Call me a wuss if you want, but it is freaking cold outside! 45 degrees at the moment; my poor little body was cold. Our house was so cold this morning, Ellie was upset and kept snuggling up to Wrangler. Poor lady, she's never felt cold like this before. We're taking her and Wrangler to the pumpkin patch this weekend - super excited about that!!!

Joshua worked his defense attorney magic yesterday and won another trial! The evidence was not in his favor, and somehow he still pulled it off! (can't go into details on the case on my blog, but we were both in shock after his client was found not guilty) Sooooo, we all know what a trial win means - Outback for dinner! Armed with a giftcard from the Brians, we went and ate ourselves a feast. Mahi Mahi and a Chocolate Thunder from Down Under (not mixed together, because that would be disgusting) - tasty dinner!!!

Work has been unbelievably boring this week. I'd say it is a waste of time, but I'm getting paid, so I won't say that :) My attorneys are out of the office Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday this week. I'm making up projects for myself to do, but there's only so much I can do! Entertain me, people!!!

I'm still missing home like whoa. It's always tough when I get back from a trip :( I get saaaaaad. Everyone just needs to relocate to Florida, please. <3

I actually do not have anything truly entertaining or blog-worthy to write about; I just needed an excuse to waste some time. I think I just successfully wasted 10 minutes. Only 7 hours and 50 minutes to go!!! Oh boy.

My Best Friend's Wedding.

This past weekend, I traveled to Virginia (husband in tow) for Jessica Bond's (now Nakamura) wedding! Such such such a fun weekend. I'm sad to be back in Florida, because I miss everyone, but am so thankful that I got to spend a weekend with family and friends :)

We left early early early Thursday morning and hurried up the coast to Virginia! Stopped for breakfast, gas, lunch, and that's it. We were in Virginia by 6pm, leaving plenty of time to hang with my family! My mom made meatloaf ~delish~ and we drank beers. Allison introduced Joshua and I to the Jersey Shore and all lingo used by the guidos and meatballs. Fun night with the family!!

Friday morning, it was off to U-Haul to get a trailer (to take my parents' old sectional couch down to Florida, woop!). Brilliant Kaitlin brought us to the wrong U-Haul location, so that took a bit longer than planned. oopsies ;) Once the U-Haul was straightened out, it was time for an IHOP breakfast with the family, husband, and Nanny. Delicious and fun breakfast!! Back home, the Rose/Brian clan used our muscles and keen packing abilities to load up the trailer with the couch. Before heading up to Northern Virginia, my mother and sister showed off their fabulous styling abilities, and helped me pick out this cutie patootie outfit from Kohl's:

Traffic to Northern Virginia was reeeeediculous. Rehearsal started at 5. We got to the hotel at 4:40, left at 4:50 ("supposedly" the town hall was 4 minutes away. No no no, Northern Virginia traffic would never allow that), and got to the hall 15 minutes late :( Everyone else was late, too, so my panic was quickly gone. Rehearsal went well, and then it was off to my favorite event - food! Dinner to be exact, at "The Auld Shabeen" - oh boy was it yum yum! In true Irish fashion (I am now Irish by marriage, mind you) I ordered the corned beef and cabbage and two of the house ale. Delish! Dinner was a great time, chatting with friends I haven't seen for a while. Jessica got Chris a Groom's Cake (photo below, of course), which turned everyone's mouths black :) We all looked ~gorgeous after the dinner!! After dinner, I made Joshua stop and get me more brewksies; two just wasn't enough! We had a dance party in the hotel, and went to bed by 10:30 like a couple of old folks :) Here are some pics from rehearsal:

Saturday was wedding day!!!!!!! We started off the day with a tasty (FREE) breakfast at the hotel ;) After that, we got ready and headed out! Off to the mall we went to get our rings clean so they looked fancy and shiny in the pictures. We hung around the mall, played with the new iPhone, ate some more food, and then off to the hotel I went. Poor hubby-boo was stuck in the hotel all day because nobody could play with him... sad stuff :( But I had fun with the ladies! We got to drink wine at the hotel bar in silk robes; that was definitely the highlight. Jessica looked GORGEOUS. Here are some photos of us getting ready:

After getting ready we all hopped in a LIMO. I had to write it in all capital letters because it's exciting. Why? I had never been in one before! Pathetic, yes, but I can now cross it off my bucket list :) We popped a bottle of champagne (well, Casie popped the bottle; I'm bottle popping challenged), and toasted to the almost-bride! It was super fun :)

The ceremony was lovely, very unique and nice. My poor feet went numb during it, but no worries! Chris's smile was so bright, and I could tell Jessica was beaming, even though I could only see the back of her head from where I was standing. Great ceremony!!

The reception was fun, too. Joshua and I got to hit the dance floor with our hot moves we practiced, and I got to dance with Miss Allison, too. I'm so glad my family was there so I could spend more time with them :) I also got to see a lot more friends that I hadn't seen in a long while! The Matron of Honor speech was SO terrifying, aaaaaaahhh! Public Speaker, I am not. But it was well received, so I guess I didn't screw it up too bad ;)  Picture of the happy couple:

We had to be super uncool old people and go to sleep instead of party after the reception, but we had a long trip back to Florida :( And boy was it long!!! I was sad most of the trip, because I hate leaving my friends and family behind. But at least I had the hubby with me, our new home to come back to, two very wiggly dogs and two very hungry cats :)

Miss all of you SO MUCH. I always feel sad for a few days after I get back from Virginia, because my trips are always too short. I need visits, please :) Love you all!!

This weekend I plan to get a pumpkin and may even roast its seeds; we shall see!!

Kaitlin the Blog Abandoner to the Rescue!

Well, hello there, everyone! Holy cow, my goodness gracious, oh dear, etc., I am quite the blog abandoner. I am currently dreadfully bored in my office, and felt compelled to revisit my little corner of the interwebs, so here I am. Prepare yourself for a long entry, because it has been quite a while.

When I left off, we were in the process of purchasing a home. Well, guess what folks... we are homeowners! It is a great feeling to know that we own a house, a yard, the trees, the driveway, even the fence. It's quite amazing :) Unfortunately, our lease on our townhome isn't through until mid-December (silly people, nobody wants to sublet!), soooo our finances are a wee bit tight at the moment, and we're unable to really put a lot of money into making the house fancy, but we have plans!! We'll paint, add bookshelves, buy more wall art, add something to the backyard to make it not-ugly, and do all sorts of fun things once we're not paying our lovely rent/mortgage combo. Soon, folks! Photographic evidence of our new home:

We officially had our first houseguests a couple of weeks ago. Yay Holly & Justin!!! We had delicious Carabbas together, shopped for FSU gear together, enjoyed happy hour at Chili's together, and tailgated together. It was a great time :) Now everyone else needs to visit, please. Now. Thanks. Evidence that we had friends visit:

Also, our puppy has gotten huge. She is over 30 pounds now, can catch tennis balls in her mouth, and no longer fits under our bed. She doesn't chew on or destroy everything anymore, and can hold her little bladder all day, so I don't have to go home during lunch anymore. Our little lady is a "legal beagle" as the vet says. Next stop: getting her fixed, poor baby. Here is evidence of how enormous the lady has gotten (and how cute she is):

Life has been good down here. The weather has been absolutely gorgeous down here (so much so, I had to italicize it for emphasis). We've been eating delicious food and drinking delicious beverages. We've been watching TV (I'm currently loving these new shows: "New Girl" and "Two Broke Girls" and love love "Raising Hope"). We got a 2nd TV so he can nerd (play videogames) while I'm a couch potato. Pretty exciting stuff, I know. We celebrated the arrival of fall last weekend with overpriced beer. Evidence of this event:

I'm getting super duper excited about our journey to Virginia next week. 12 hours of me serenading my poor, poor husband in the car (followed by another 12 hour drive a few days later). BUT IT WILL BE WORTH IT. I get to see my favorite people, ride in a limo for the first time in my life, wear a purple dress, eat delicious food with fellow food-appreciators, and see all of my favorite people (so happy I had to add that one twice). Evidence of my excitement:

YAAAAAAAAAAAAAY

Sadly, I have been interrupted by work. What. the. heck? Love you all, byeeeeee!
