Memorial Day Weekend roundup

Hello, everyone. Happy Monday! Mondays are happy when there is no work involved :)

So. I shot a gun this weekend. Not a water gun, not a bb gun, and not a glue gun. A GUN gun. It was scary as crap, people. I was freaking out at first, but by the end I'd gotten comfortable with it. In the words of Joshua, I can now survive a zombie apocalypse. Photo evidence, booyah!!

That was so exciting I had to get it out of the way first. Now rewind to FOOD that day. We used a Groupon that I bought to get lunch at Hunt Club, a burger place near our house - very yummy! I have another coupon for that place that we will surely use soon.

Okay, so after shooting we hit up the Starbucks, because I had to drink Starbucks in honor of Jessica and Holly (it was the last place we were all together, le sigh!). After Starbucks, after much debate, we saw the Hangover II. It was funny, but definitely a replica of the first one. I predicted sooooooo much in it, just because of the similarities between the two movies. But it was very funny. And Bradley Cooper is a hot piece of man. So $15 well spent :)

When we got home, we ate dinner, drank beer, and watched Harold and Kumar. I'd definitely forgotten that I know every (EVERY) word to that movie. It was extreeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeme!!

Sunday was productive day. First stop was the liquor store (very productive) to get the makings for Strawberry Margaritas!! Tequila and mixers - check!! Then it was off to Walmart to get a hose and nozzle (to rinse off our cars - more on this later). Then off to the grocery store. I made a baller lunch. Potato Skins and Fried Green Beans (TGIFridays appetizers B1G1 hellz yeah!), and "the best shrimp Josh had ever had".

Make these shrimp. Pronto. Trust me.
In a bowl, mix melted butter, dash of lemon juice, parmesan cheese, and bread crumbs. Then drizzle over the shrimp, and back the shrimp in the oven for 15-20 minutes. Ours were shrimp skewers because they were on sale, and they were THE BOMB. Make them.

Sooooo, remember I said I'd get back to the hose and nozzle? Well. Turns out Joshua already had a nozzle, so that's getting returned today (oops!). The hose? Well, it busted open while Josh was using it. So that is getting returned today. EFFERS. Walmart, you can be an epic fail sometimes.

After that, it was off to the carwash. I got a free carwash off of Groupon. I don't know if I'd ever ridden through one of those carwash tunnel things, but it was AWESOME. After our cars got their showers, I got an oil change. Exciting stuff, people. Exciting stuff. 25% off oil change - I love deals almost as much as I love foods.

After the productive activities it was finally, FINALLY, time for some margaritas!!! We finally used our fancy pants blender from my grandma. And it worked great (although, it's hard to pour things out of, and tequila was wasted in the process, but oh well, it mixed great!). We had one set of margaritas on the deck. But it was too hot so we drank the rest inside. But look at how pretty they were out there:

Our second, third, and fourth rounds of margaritas were consumed inside :) Oh yes, we drank a lot of margaritas haha. Josh introduced me to one of his favorite movies, Cutthroat Island - cute pirate movie. We then got invited out by Miss Karen Carolina, but four margaritas each and driving? Not so smart of a plan. So we stayed in :)

Today, we are having coffee time! I'm trying to find a fun place with a decent lunch menu, with no success so far. World, you are expensive. And we're probably going to go see Bridesmaids this afternoon. I really want to see it :) Raunchy girl comedy? Yes, please!!

Miss everyone lots! I'm trying to figure out a good time to come up to VA for a visit, but like I stated before, the world is expensive :(

LOVEYOUALL!!!

Happy Friday, friends!

A certain Jessica Bond has complained that I haven't been blogging. Sorryyyy.
1) My work computer SUCKS and not much can be done on it. If I could blog at work, I would, but I can't.
2) This website basically does.not.run. on iPhones. Soooo that option is out!
3) I've been watching TV and movies with the hubby a lot this week.
Soooooo, oopsies my bad sorry oh my gosh I'm sorry oh so sorry!

Anywho, nothing has really been going on down here. Work has just been kind of bleh and slow this week. Joshua has been super busy at work this late; we kept planning lunch and poor boo was always either still in court or with a client, and he worked late almost every day this week (still at work now, rawr!).

He brought me flowers this week. Allow Parker to model their beauty. Ooooooo Aaaaaaaaa!

I have made some successful meals this week! A yummy (healthy!) pasta with olive oil, spinach, tomatoes, and sausage Sunday night. Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday we fended for ourselves since Joshua was working. And last night, Thursday, I made an Alice Springs Chicken knock-off (Josh's favorite dish at Outback!), which turned out great!! I paired it with homemade fries (yes, I cut up the potato myself, skills) and asparagus. Definitely being added to my recipe book!

Mom, you'll be happy to know, I just washed the tablecloth. Yay :)

I got us cupcakes after work today! We've both had long, bleh weeks, so we deserve cupcakes. Mmmmm!

No plans for the holiday weekend - eek! I hope to be productive around the house, cook, drink beer on the deck, NOT get sunburned again, andddd relax :)

I hope everyone has a lovely weekend. LOVE YOU GUYS <3

A prompt blog about Panama City Beach!

We left as humans, we returned as lobsters.

Josh and I have returned from Panama City Beach - fantastic time!! Sooooo, here's what we did :)

Thursday: Weeee drove. Yeah, nothing exciting about Thursday. I won't allow it to waste space.

Friday: Free breakfast in the hotel! Then, I had to drop Joshua off at his CLE. So sad, so sad. I then hit up numerous cheesy beach stores (ie: Wings, Sunsations, and craptastic places like that). I took a super long walk on the beach. Holy gorgeous, batman! Crystal clear blue water and white sands. Absolutely amazing. After my walk, it was off to more shopping! Then, I went to meet Josh during his lunch break. We had lunch with a friend of his at a place called Lime's, which is a part of the Marriott. It's at the end of a very long pier and it was great. I got a beer (they had to get sodas seeing how their next lesson in the CLE was about substance abuse!) and a chicken sandwich. They talked law the whole time (both criminal defense attorneys, I think they were bonding) and I was perfectly content watching the boats go by :) After lunch, there was more time for me to waste. More shopping! I ended up buying absolutely nothing on any of these shopping adventures, but it was fun! After that, I picked Josh up at his CLE and he wanted to head straight toward the beach. After a long walk on the beach together, it was time for frozen beverages! 24 ounces each of amazingness. Such a great time!! Then it was a night of bad television and carry out Italian in the hotel. Great day.

Saturday: Free breakfast at the hotel!! Then off to Walmart for beach supplies - umbrella, drink holders, beer, swim trunks, cooler - success! Josh then insisted I get a henna tattoo :) He chose my design and on my shoulder it went. Then it was off to the beach! We had such a great time sitting there chatting and people watching. We both brought reading materials but just ended up hanging out the entire time. It wasn't until we left that we realized how burned we'd gotten - oopsies!! Then it was time for a late lunch. We ended up at Margaritaville after another restaurant apparently didn't want to wait on us (a-holes), and it was delicious! Another beer for me and a fantastic taco salad. After that we watched TV at the hotel for a while, waiting for the sun to start going down so we didn't get burned, and then off to putt putt!! We had so much fun. Annnnnd I won! Great time :) Then back to the hotel to watch Scary Movie 2 (I'd forgotten how terrible those movies are) and sleepy time.

Sunday: More free breakfast at the hotel!! We had plans to go back to the beach and more putt putt on Sunday. Yeahhhh, we were way too lobster-esque for any of that, oops! So we packed up our stuff and headed out for a Starbucks date. Fun time, as always :) Then we said goodbye to the beach and headed back to Tally! Came home to say hi to the kittens (thanks, Karen, for taking care of them!), then a Chipotle date (currently addicted to their veggie burrito bowls with guacamole), and then picked up the doggie (thanks, Jacquie, for taking care of him!). We've been relaxing at the house since then. Josh has been nerding and I watched Justin Timberlake host SNL. Yes, I have a huge crush on him. Josh is well aware of this, haha :)

I hope everyone had a lovely weekend! Come visit okthanksbyebyeloveyouall.

Jessica: UPDATE YOUR BLOG, HO

My mom and my BFF (yes, I just actually used that term, I am in fact 12), have been reminding me to update my blog, and I have been such a slacker.

My bad.

It has been the week of the headaches, beginning on Saturday where I spent over half the day in bed. And now it has carried on to today, where I am still nerdy four eyes because the headache has still not stopped. Oh, the wonderful things that go along with being a girl. TMI? Yes. True? Yes.

We leave for the beach tonight! WOOHOO! Much needed break from this work week. People are annoying me and it will be nice to get away! And to get a tan. And nerdy souvenirs. And pictures.

The truth is, life has been normal with nothing exciting to talk about! I did get a new laptop. Sadly, this blog is being written on my poor excuse for a computer at work. I'm surprised it hasn't frozen on me yet.

It's time for my lunch break. Why did I choose to start typing this right before my lunch break? It's not like I can minimize it and finish it after I eat, seeing as I whined about work earlier.

I miss everyone back home! I want to visit soon, just need an excuse (and dollar dollar bills, y'all). Who wants to donate to the "Kaitlin wants to visit fund"? Coolthanksbye.

I promise a more exciting post when we get back from the beach!! Filled with fun things and pictures, weeeeeeeee!

This has been random ramblings of Kaitlin in an effort to please everyone by blogging. Truth is, I'm hungry (my life motto) and it's my lunch break.

Hope this blog shall suffice for now :) LOVE YOU ALL BYE BYE LOVE YOU! BYE <3

Friday, Friday, gotta get down on Friday!

Yesterday was Thursday, Thursday.... Just a boring weekday and a simple night at home. Nothing to blog about. So sad, so sad.

Today it is Friday, Friday... Tonight I cook fish that our neighbor gave us, fresh out of our lake! Should be an interesting night of cooking. Never cooked fish like this before :) I bought Josh a gift on the way home (Iron Man Blu-Ray). Hopefully he won't see that before he gets home, it's a surprise! He owns the second one but not the first, soooo now he has both. Such a good wifey I am...

We we we so excited. We so excited. We gonna have a ball today.

Tomorrow is Saturday... and we'll be cleaning the house and just relaxing. The past week has been crazy, so it will be nice to just have a day off. We may go fishing with our neighbor (the one that gave us fish) - we shall see!!

And Sunday comes afterwards... Sunday is Jazz for Justice day! It's a charity event in Tallahasee that my office gave me tickets to. VIP tickets to be exact, holler! So we get a parking pass (if you knew the area of town, you'd now how amazing that is), access to a VIP Reception with champagne, a jazz band and art, and free beer and wine from 4-7pm. A lot of New Orleans art and jazz bands will be there, should be a fun time! And free is one of my favorite words :)

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY TO MY PARENTS <3

And sister, have fun at Myrtle Beach - JEALOUS!

Which reminds me, Panama City Beach on Thursday!! WOOHOO :)

Sleepy, but fitting in a blog!

Sorry for the delay in posting, but unfortunately, it's due to sad circumstances.

Friday night Joshua and I had a lazy Friday night in. We ate leftovers, watched The Devil's Advocate, and went to bed embarrassingly early (well, I did, he stayed up in read... I'm a wimp). We had plans to clean the apartment the next day. At quarter to 4 we got a call from Josh's mom, Barb, that Josh's Grandpa had fallen and hit his head, and there was a chance he wasn't going to make it. Josh sprang out of bed and promptly started packing, so I sleepily followed. We were out the door by 5am, at Dunkins by 5:10am, and on the road by 5:15am. Made it to St. Petersburg by 10am, dropped off the doggie at the Brians' condo (kittens stayed home, poor babies), and then headed to the airport to get Josh's parents. Then it was off to the hospital to see Grandpa Brian! He seemed to be doing better, which led to a collective sigh of relief. He had started to talk again, though not completely coherently, but it still seemed to be a good sign. We stayed until well into the afternoon (with a tasty BBQ break, which is necessary information for us food lovers) and left with high spirits, thinking he'd pull through. We all hung out and everyone gradually left. Josh's parents went to the hospital to say goodnight to Grandpa Brian, and Josh and I, sleepy from getting up at 4am, went to bed. We hadn't been in bed for 5 minutes when we got the call that Grandpa Brian had passed. I was honestly shocked, as he had seemed so much better when we left. But his wife, whom he loved very much, had died barely two months earlier, and we all truly believe he was ready to go. They traveled all over the world together and had so many amazing stories that we'll all miss hearing. But it's comforting to know that they're together again. As Joshua said, they're up in Heaven boating together now, and he's spending eternity checking out her butt (trust me, that's his grandpa's idea of heaven, I'm sure; he spoke quite often of her butt, haha). So, we're going back down to St. Petersburg later this week. Rest in peace Grandpa and Grandma Brian.

OK, onto a lighter note. HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!! I really wish I could have been with my mom today, but it was nice to speak with her on the phone :) And I'm glad she liked her Mother's Day gift (subscription to Food Network Magazine, hellz yeah!) Thanks for being a super duper awesomely cool mom, Mom. Love you muchly!! Wish we could have had mother's day bloody mary's at Chadwick's! Or on our deck :)

I got to spend time with my mom-in-law today, which was very nice! A bunch of us went to a restaurant called The Conch Republic grill - DELICIOUS! I got snow crab legs, a salad, and asparagus (and two glasses of wine, duh). It was very tasty and a good time.

I'm also a very proud mommy right now to my four legged babies. Wrangler did a great job keeping spirits up this weekend during a sad time; everyone loved having him around. And Tollie and Parker were SO good this weekend. From what we've seen so far, they did absolutely fine here by themselves. I'm so proud of them all :)

Happy Mother's Day, everyone!!

And now. I sleep. Goodnight :)

Quick little morning update.

Drinking my coffee before heading off to work, so a quick little morning update is in order :)

1. We watched Tangled last night. Watch it. So good. Josh and I have decided it's one we will have to eventually have in our collection. Made my heart happy!

2. I Pricelined our hotel in Panama City Beach last night. Got a hotel that normally charges $120-150/night for $75/night. HOLLER!

3. I really do not feel like working today. But really, who ever feels like working?

4. This coffee is really strong.

5. I thought I had more to talk (well, write) about, but I guess not.... Oopsies!

This has been an incredibly boring update from Kaitlin. Enjoy!

The fan club is angry.

I have been notified by a certain person, whose name I will not mention, just that her name starts with a J and ends with an essica, that I have been slacking. My dearest apologies, but life is quite boring. I wake up, drink coffee, get ready for work, work, make dinner, eat, watch Six Feet Under, shower, sleep, repeat.

Although, we finished Six Feet Under last night, which was very sad. What the heck are we going to do with our lives now? We're lost and confused.

I am planning a vacation to Panama City Beach! Josh takes a CLE there on Friday, May 20th, so I'm tagging along. Priceline, please get us good hotel prices, thanks!

OOOOO AAAAAAAAAAA PRETTY!

So, I have to get back to work now, oops! Bye everyone :)
