Four Month Checkup!

Caroline and I started off our work/daycare week with a visit to her pediatrician! We were the first appointment of the day, so we were in and out of the office rather quickly, which was very nice.

The doctor asked us questions and then gave Caroline her physical exam. Everything was perfect, she said! I was worried about how flat her head is in the back, but the doctor did not seem concerned (thank goodness!). She agreed that Miss Caroline is probably teething, which would explain the drool fests and finger chewing. She also said she is ready to start solids whenever we feel she needs it. Josh and I may try to introduce rice cereal this weekend in hopes it will help our hungry lady sleep better at night.

Playing with those feet between her exam and vaccinations!
Then, it was time for the dreaded vaccinations. Josh wasn't there this morning to offer moral support (because I was a dumb girl and scheduled the appointment for a time when he is always in court). The oral vaccine apparently tastes bad because Caroline had the most disgusted look on her face ever! Poor girl once again cried when she received her shots. Luckily, there was no scream this time! Just a very, very sad baby. We checked out and I rushed her to the car to nurse her, which definitely calmed her down! It also put her to sleep, and she snoozed during the ride to daycare. She woke up when we got there, but was happily flirting with a giraffe on the floor when I left.

So, now onto the fun part... her measurements!!

Height: 26 1/4" inces (96 percentile)
Weight: 16 lbs 2 oz (83 percentile)
Head Circumference: 41.4 cm (55 percentile)

So, we have a long, lean baby who finally grew into that enormous head she was born with. What's crazy, is she has almost doubled in weight from when she was born (she was born at 8 lbs 4 oz). No one is surprised at how long she is, given her mom is 5'10" and her dad is 6'4"!

Here are some photos from our weekend, just for fun! It sort of summarizes it without a need for my ramblings :) Enjoy!

    1. The doctor said to start with rice cereal for a while to get her tummy ready and make sure she's actually ready for solids. Then we can start introducing fruits and veggies - a new one every three days (so in case she has a reaction we know what food gave it to her)

  2. Yes, dear! Your mother knows that you shouldn't start her off eating directly from the dinner table!! Love you :)
